T o av oid the risk of accidents and damage to the tumble dryer , please read these instru ctions carefully befor e using it for the f irst time .
Technical safety ~ Befor e set ting up the tumble dr yer , chec k it for any e xternally visible damage. Do not install or use a damaged tumble dryer . ~ Befor e connecting the tumble dryer , ensure that the connection dat a on the data plat e (voltage and connect ed load) match the mains electricity supply .
Correct use ~ T o pre vent the risk of fir e, the follo wing te xtiles must not be dried in this tumble dryer: – items whic h have not been w ashed. – items , su ch as w orkwear , which ha ve not been thoroughl y cleaned and which ar e still soiled with grease, oil or other desposits (suc h as cosmetics , lotions etc).
~ The dryer must not be used without the fluf f filter s in place or if the fluf f filter s are damaged in an y w ay . ~ The f luff filt ers must be cleaned regularl y . ~ The dryer must not be used without the condenser unit in place. ~ The f luff filt ers must be thoroughl y dried af ter cleaning.

Brief instructions The headings number ed ( A , B , C ...) show the oper ating sequence and can be used as a brief guide to using y our dryer . A Sort the laundry T o ensure an e ven drying result separ ate out the w ashed lau ndry and sort it according to: .
D Select a programme ^ Select the progr amme you w ant. The indicat or light for the progr amme selected will light up . A drying level or additional option(s) indicator light ma y also light up, or a time may appear in the displa y (Memory fu nction).
F Start the programme The Star t/Stop but ton will f lash when a progr amme is being selected. The flashing indicat es that a progr amme can be started. ^ P ress the Start/Stop but ton. The Star t/Stop but ton will no w light up constantl y . Drying will appear in the display and the time remaining will st art cou nting down.
Low temperature F or all delicate or minimum iron f abrics with the r symbol on the car e label (e.g . acrylic garments). – The pr ogramme dur ation is longer . – On some progr ammes Low temper ature is a standar d par t of the progr amme and so cannot be deselected.

Woollens handcare Max. load: 2 kg* F abric type W oollen fabrics Notes – T his progr amme only fluf fs up woollen g arments . T hey are not dried completel y by this progr amme. – Remo ve garments as soon as the progr amme has finished and leav e to finish drying at room t emper ature.
Cool air Max. load: 6 kg* F abric type – Any it em which onl y needs airing. Warm air Max. load: 6 kg* F abric type – Multi-lay ered f abrics whose layer s have dif fer ent dr ying char acteristics , e.g . jack ets , pillows . – F or dr ying individual items , e .
Once a programme has started - changing the programme Y ou cannot change t o another progr amme once a progr amme has started (this pr ev ents u nintentional alter ations). Y ou will need to cancel the curr ent progr amme before y ou can select a new one .
The s ystem loc k prev ents the dryer being used without your kno wledge. It can be activ ated if wished. The dryer's electr onics are then lock ed.
Emptying the condensed water container The condensed w ater will be collect ed in the condensed w ater container unless the appliance has been fit ted with a dr ain hose (see "Installation"). Empty the condensed wat er container af ter e very drying progr amme.
Cleaning the fluff filters The f luff which is cr eated by the drying process is collect ed by the fluf f filt ers in the door and the door opening. Clean the filt ers af ter each drying progr amme*. Cleaning them whilst dry Tip: Y ou can also use a v acuum cleaner to r emove the f luff .
Cleaning them with water If there is a gr eat deal of compacted fluf f on any of the filter s , the y can be remo ved and cleaned under hot running wat er . ^ Open the door and pull the fluf f filter out of the door as described pre viously . The two filt ers in the door opening can also be remo ved if you need t o clean them with w ater .
Cleaning the tumble dryer Disconnect the tumble dryer from the mains electricity supply . Miele br anded cleaning and conditioning produ cts are av ailable to order fr om your Dealer , the Miele Spar e P ar ts Department or via the internet on www .miele-shop.
Cleaning the condenser unit Deter gent residue , hair and f ine fluff from the dryer can get thr ough the fluf f filt ers and block the condenser unit. Dust fr om the room in which the dryer is installed can also get int o the condenser unit and cause a blockage .
^ P ull the condenser u nit out of its housing by the handle . Checking the condenser unit ^ Hold the condenser unit up to the light as shown . ^ Check t o see if there is any fluf f inside it. The arr ows in the illustr ation above indicate wher e to look.
^ Then f lush the u nit through fr om the front. ^ Check the condenser unit again f or any visible f luff and if necessary flush it through ag ain u ntil it has all gone. ^ Remo ve any soiling still visible inside the housing unit by hand using a damp cloth.
With the help of the f ollowing not es , minor f aults in the performance of the appliance, some of whic h may result fr om incorrect oper ation, can be put right without contacting the Service Department.
Problem Possible cause Remedy The Clean out airways indicator light comes on. This indicat or light comes on to w arn you that the dryer is not working ef ficientl y . P ossible cause: T he fluff filt ers are clogged with f luff or with deter gent residues .
Other problems Problem Possible cause Remedy The drying process goes on too long or even switches off. In some circumstances, the Clean out airways indicator light still comes on, even though the filters are clean. Please check all the possible causes and switch the dryer off and then back on again.
Problem Possible cause Remedy Water leaks from the dryer after the condenser unit has been cleaned. – The inner co ver of the condenser unit has not been lock ed properly and/or the condenser unit has not been positioned correctl y . – Fluff has collect ed in the condenser unit housing.

Changing the lamp Disconnect the tumble dryer from the mains electricity supply . ^ Open the door . Y ou will find the int erior lamp cov er at the top of the drum aperture . ^ Insert a suitable tool, su ch as a wide bladed scre wdriver , under the side edge of the lamp cov er as illustrat ed.
Repairs In the ev ent of any faults whic h you cannot remedy y ourself , or if the machine is under guar antee, please contact – Y our Miele dealer , or – the Miele Service Department (see back co ver for contact det ails).

Levelling the machine The mac hine must be per fectl y level t o ensure saf e and proper oper ation. ^ The scr ew feet can be adjust ed to compensate f or any unev enness in the floor .
External condensed water outlet General notes When drying is in progr ess , condensed w ater is pumped into the condensed w ater container thr ough the dr ain hose at the back of the dryer . T he condensed w ater can also be dr ained off directl y if the tumble dryer is installed near a sink, dr ain outlet etc.
External drainage via a sink or gully ^ See "F ront vie w" illustration. , If you w ant to dr ain the w ater off into a sink y ou will need to secure the hose carefull y , e.g . b y t ying it to a tap t o make sur e it cannot slip during use.

Electrical connection U.K. All electrical work should be carried out by a suit ably qualif ied and competent person, in strict accor dance with current national and local saf et y regulations (BS 7 671 in the UK). Ensure po wer is not supplied to the appliance until aft er installation work has been carried out.

Programmable functions for changing default settings The pr ogrammable functions are used to alt er the tumble dr yer´s electronics t o suit changing requir ements .
Extending the range of the drying levels Y ou can e xtend the r ange of the drying levels f or many of the progr ammes: Machine iron+ (drier than Machine ir on). Hand iron+ (drier than Hand iron). Normal+ (drier than Normal). In addition the Extr a dr y drying level can be made av ailable for the Delicates and Denim pr ogrammes .
Altering the volume of the buzzer The buzz er has t wo volumes . Normal The buzz er sou nds at the end of a progr amme (default set ting). Loud The buzz er sou nds at maximum volume at the end of a progr amme. Follow steps A to F to programme and store in memory.
Memory function The electr onics will memorise any e xtra options select ed for a progr amme. The dur ation selected f or the timed drying progr ammes will also be stor ed in memor y . These set tings will be selected automaticall y the next time the progr amme is chosen.
Extending the cooling down time The cooling do wn phase which tak es place befor e the end of a progr amme can be lengthened if requir ed. This makes the g ar ments easier to handle . The cooling do wn time – can be e xtended by 5 minut es or 1 0 minutes .
Clean out airways indicator Fluff should be r emoved af ter drying. The Clean out airwa ys indicator will remind y ou to clean the filt ers when a certain amount of fluff has collect ed in the filt ers . Y ou can decide at what lev el of fluff this r eminder should be given.
Keypad tone An audible t one sou nds each time a but ton is pressed. Follow steps A to F to programme and store in memory. Befor e you begin, f irst ensure that : – The tumble dryer is s witched off . – The door is closed. A P ress the Start/Stop but ton and k eep it pressed in whilst carrying out steps B - C .
Adjusting the dryer's electronics for very soft water , Extremel y soft w ater can af fect the sensitivity of the control electronics . If the dryer is installed in an area with v er y sof t wat er , you should contact y our local w ater supplier for information and advice reg arding w ater hardness and w ater conductivity .
