Oven use , W ARNING: Ovens can produce high temperatures that can cause burns. Prevent childr en from touching the appliance when in use. Use heat-resistant pot holders when placing items in the oven, turning them, or removing them from the oven. The upper heating element and oven racks can become very hot and cause burns.
Do not heat unopened containers of food in the oven, pressur e may build up and cause them to explode. Never add water to food on a hot tray or pan, or directly onto food in a hot oven. The steam created could cause serious burns or scalds and the sudden change in temperature can damage the enamel.
General notes Do not use a steam cleaner to clean the oven. Steam could penetrate electrical components and cause a short circuit. Children should not be left alone or unattended in an area wher e an oven is in use. Never allow children to sit or stand on any part of the oven.

Accessories Roasting pan and Anti-splash tray The roasting pan is ideal for catching drippings from meat or poultry roasted or broiled dir ectly on the rack. It can also be used as a baking tray . The anti-splash tray may be placed in the roasting pan to r educe splattering of drippings from meat or poultry .
Rotisserie The rotisserie evenly br oils and adds a finishing touch to items such as stuffed meat, poultry , and kabobs by gently turning the skewers during the broiling function. The skewer is inserted into the rotisserie motor in the back panel of the oven.
Controls The oven controls consist of the program selector and push buttons. The program selector can be turned either way to a program. Each push button has a matching symbol in the oven display .
Child Safety Loc k The child safety lock can be activated to prevent childr en from operating the oven. T o activate the Child Safety Loc k: ^ Make sure the pr ogram selector is in the "0" (OFF) position. ^ Press the "T emp." button until the key symbol appears in the display .
Heat the oven New ovens may have a slight odor during the first few uses. T o eliminate the odor quickly , the oven should be operated at a high temperature for 2 hours. Make sure the r oom is well ventilated during this process. ^ Before heating the oven r emove all accessories, labels and protective plastic films.
a T ur n the program selector to the desired pr ogram. The default oven temperature, will appear in the display and the indicator between the "+/–" buttons will light. The oven will start to heat as soon as the "+/–" buttons indicator goes out.
Adjusting the default temperature ^ Press the "T emp." button. ^ Using the "+/–" buttons enter the desired temperatur e. The default temperature of a pr ogram, can be adjusted wi.
The time display can show the time of day or turn the oven on and off automatically . With the push buttons you can control several timer functions. Button controls: symbol Start when to start cooking f Cook the duration of cooking g End when to end cooking ) All data input or adjustments are done with the "+" or "–" button.
Entering the time of day When the appliance is first connected to the power supply , or after a power failure "12:00" and the symbols " f " and " ) " flash in the display . T o set the time: ^ Press the buttons "Start" and "End" at the same time.
Programming the cooking time With the timer it is possible for the oven to turn off automatically , or be set to come on and turn off at a later time. When a program is pr e-selected, the setting chosen and the symbol " p " are displayed. The time of day and the symbols for the times entered ( f , g or ) ) are also shown.
T o program a cooking time to end automatically ^ Select the desired pr ogram. The oven will begin to heat. ^ Press the "Cook" button. The heating is turned off, and "0:00" appears in the display . ^ Using the "+" button enter the cooking time in hours:minutes (up to 23 hours 59 mins).
Enter the start time and the length of cooking ^ Select the desired pr ogram. ^ Press the "Start" button. "0:00" appears in the display field. ^ Use the "+" button to set the actual time for the oven to start. ^ Press the "Cook" button to enter the cooking time.
T o change ^ Press the "Start", "Cook" or "End" button. The indicator between the "+/–" buttons comes on. ^ Use the "+/–" buttons to enter the new time. When the indicator light between the "+/–" buttons goes out, the newly selected time is entered.
Customizing a temperature setting The default temperature of a pr ogram can be changed if you frequently work with temperatures that dif fer from the preset settings (except "Defr ost"). T o change the default temperature: ^ T ur n the program selector to the program that is to be given a dif ferent temperature.
Rapid heat The convection heating element and the upper heating element are turned on at the same time to heat the oven as rapidly as possible to save energy .
The timer can be used to time an activity separate from the oven. T o set the timer ^ Press the "Timer" button. ^ Enter the desired time in hours and minutes (up to 23 hrs. 59 mins.) with the "+" button. When the "+/–" indicator light goes out, the time set starts counting down in minutes.

Con vection Default temperature . . . . 320°F (160°C) This program actively cir culates heated air throughout the oven cavity for a consistent baking temperature. Use this program for: – cookies, cakes, – soufflés, casser oles, quiche, – frozen dinners, – salmon, lobster tails, – meat loaf, prime rib.
Intensive Default temperature . . . . 340°F (170°C) The "Intensive" program generates heat from the lower heating element. The oven’ s fan gently circulates the heated air to create a brick oven envir onment. Use this program for: – baked potatoes, french fries, – pizza, stromboli, – brisket, pot roast, – cheesecake, pies.
T op Heat Default temperature . . . . 370°F (190°C) In the "T op heat" program, food is heated from above. Use this program for: – browning meringue, – melting a cheese topping, – dense quick bread. The recommended position is the 4 th runner from the bottom.
A uto Roast Default temperature . . . . 320°F (160°C) This premium convection pr ogram heats the oven to a high temperature to sear the meat, and retain moistur e and tenderness. Once the oven cavity temperature has exceeded the set temperature, the program r etur ns to the selected temperature.
Roasting tips – Always install the grease filter in the back of the oven before r oasting. – The larger the cut of meat to be roasted, the lower the temperatur e that should be used. The roasting pr ocess will take a little longer , but the meat will be cooked evenly and the outside will become crisp.
The roast pr obe monitors the roasting process simply and r eliably . The tip of the probe continuously measures the cor e temperature at the center of the meat.
^ Insert the shor t end of the roast probe into the socket on the right side of the oven until it clicks into place. ^ T ur n the program selector to the desired pr ogram. A preset oven temperatur e will show in the oven display and the indicator between the "+/–" buttons will light.
Time remaining display Once the oven has monitored the cooking process, it will only calculate and display the remaining cooking time. From this point on, the cor e temperature can no longer be displayed. The time remaining that is first displayed is an estimate.

Broil Default temperature . . . . 460°F (240°C) Only the inner part of the upper heating element is used for a smaller area of intense heat from above. This function is excellent for broiling or searing small quantities. Use this program for: – chops, – small or thin pieces of meat, – browning small dishes.
Fan Br oil Default temperature . . . . 390°F (200°C) Hot air from the upper heating element is distributed over the food by the fan. This enables a lower temperature than conventional broiling to be used. Use this program for: – steak, – lamb. The recommended position is the 5 th runner from the bottom.
Broiling on the r otisserie ^ Secure meat or poultry on the skewer . (Poultry legs should be tied together to prevent them fr om catching on the heating element.) ^ Assemble the rotisserie as shown. ^ Put the rotisserie in the oven, using the lowest level runner .
Broiling tips – T o broil thicker pieces of food gradually , sear the meat at a high temperature, then continue br oiling at a lower temperature so the food cooks through to the center . – T o ensure even cooking, it is best to broil foods of a similar thickness at the same time.

Defrost No default temperature This program allows you to defr ost food at a constant temperature. Defr osting should be at room temperatur e, i.e. without selecting an oven temperature. However , a temperature of up to 120°F (50°C) can be selected.
Before cleaning or servicing the oven, disconnect it from the power supply by either shutting off the power main or manually "tripping" the circuit br eaker . Never use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, steel wool or caustic (oven) cleaners on any part of the oven.
P erfectClean The PerfectClean enamel is a smooth, nonstick surface that cleans easily with a sponge. The following have been treated with "PerfectClean": – oven interior , – roasting pan, – anti-splash tray , – racks, – runners.
Catalytic liner s The removable back panel and r oof liner are coated with a dark catalytic enamel. Circulating air in the oven deposits oil and fat on the back of the oven. These deposits are burnt off fr om the catalytic liners when the oven temperature exceeds 390°F (200°C).
Catalytic c leaning process Before cleaning the catalytic liners using high temperatures, make sur e all PerfectClean sur faces are clean. High temperatures can cause deposits to become baked on to the PerfectClean sur faces and become impossible to remove.
Cleaning the oven ca vity by hand , Danger of burns! Allow the oven to cool before cleaning. T o make cleaning easier – remove the oven door , – remove the runners, – lower the upper heating element, – remove the safety guar d. ^ Clean the oven surfaces with a solution of hot water and liquid dish soap and a sponge or soft nylon brush.
Removing the runner s ^ Pull on the fastener to release the runner . ^ Pull the runner out from the r ear of the oven. Removing the bac k panel ^ Loosen the screws in the back panel and remove. The oven must not be used without the back panel in place.
Lowering the upper heating element ^ Remove the runners. ^ Pull and turn the fastener on the grill element to release it. ^ Gently lower the grill element. Removing the safety guar d If needed, the safety guard can be removed for cleaning. ^ Hold the guard firmly and unscrew the ribbed knob.
Refitting the oven door ^ Hold the door as shown above and carefully put the locked hinges into the guide holes until they engage. Open the door fully . ^ Still supporting the door , flip the locking clamps up. Check that the locking clamps are flipped up when the door is refitted after cleaning.
, T o reduce the risk of electric shock, disconnect this appliance from the power supply by shutting off the power main or tripping the circuit br eaker . Changing the light bulb ^ Remove the runners. ^ Spread a dishtowel on the oven floor to protect the enamel, in case the light cover falls.
^ Replace the halogen bulb. Only use a 12 V , 10 W , 572°F (300°C) heat resistant, Osram, type w818 bulb. Do not touch the new light bulb with your fingers; touching the bulb will reduce its life. Follow the bulb manufacturer’ s instructions. ^ Put the light cover back in place with the notch to the rear of the metal clamps.
T o turn an additional feature on or off: ^ T ur n the program selector to "0". ^ Open the oven door fully . ^ T ur n the program selector to "Light". ^ Press the "T emp." button. "01:0" or the most recently changed feature will appear in the oven display .
Installation work and repairs should only be performed by a qualified technician in accordance with all applicable codes and standar ds. Repairs and other work by unqualified persons could be dangerous and may void the warranty . What if the oven does not heat? P ossible fault Fix A program was not selected.
What if "F" and a number appear in the o ven display? P ossible fault Fix " F3 ", the roast pr obe is faulty . Remove the probe fr om its socket and the code will disappear . Contact Miele to purchase a new roast pr obe. " F6 ", the oven has automatically shut off during operation.

Part # 03 985 271 Pizza pan This circular pan is suitable for cooking fresh or fr ozen pizzas, flat cakes, tar ts, and baked desserts.
Catalytic con verter A catalytic converter can be built into the cooling system to filter fat particles and reduce food odors. Catalytic liner s The catalytic liners can be replaced. When ordering please state the model number of your oven. P oultry clamp and Kabob griller The poultry clamp is ideal for roasting small birds on the r otisserie.

Disposal of the packing materials The cardboar d box and packing materials protect the appliance during shipping. They have been designed to be biodegradable and recyclable. Ensure that any plastic wrappings, bags, etc. are disposed of safely and kept out of the reach of childr en.

The oven must be installed into cabinetry before use. Do not insulate the cabinet. This will prevent pr oper ventilation. If the oven is to be installed under a counter top, a sealing strip must replace the stainless steel rail above the control panel.
