NO TE: Read the tractor and attachment(s) manuals bef ore operating the equipment. Operate the tractor only from the operator’ s position on the seat. Ser vice the tractor and attachment bef ore operating. Direction Control P edal The direction control pedal controls the mov ement of the tractor .
NO TE: The light is activ ated when there is a loss of oil pressure. If the light comes on while operating the tractor , stop the tractor and engine as quickly as possible and chec k the engine oil le vel. T o check to see if the light is operating correctly , turn the ignition s witch to the “ON” position.
T o stop the engine: • Mov e the throttle lev er to “SLO W” and idle with the PT O control disengaged f or approximately 15 seconds. • T ur n the ignition s witch of “OFF”.
Filling The Fuel T ank W ARNING: Use caution with fuel. Fuel is very flammable. Keep fuel in a clean and tight container . Keep fuel a way from fire or heat. Never put fuel in the fuel tank while the engine is running or hot. Clean up any spilled fuel before starting the engine .
Checking the Engine Oil Check the engine oil le vel daily . Nev er operate the engine with the oil le vel belo w the low mark on the dipstick. See your engine man ual for oil specifications and oil filter ser vice instructions. T o check the oil le vel: • Clean around the dipstick to pre vent dirt from entering the tube.
Checking the F asteners Ev er y 25 hours, or any time looseness of par ts, rattles , or excess noise and vibr ation are noted, check all f asteners. Look for loose or missing f asteners. Make sure all bolts , screws , nuts, pins , snap rings, and cotter pins are in the correct position and replace any that are missing.
Adjusting the Brakes Brak e ser vice is required if the brake does not stop and hold the tractor eff ectiv ely . The brake should be eff ective enough to cause the rear wheels to slide if applied suddenly on a concrete or asphalt surf ace. CA UTION: Replace the brake band when the lining is as thin as the ignition key .
• T ur n the control rod to change the free tra vel. Each turn will change it by about .25 inch. T ur n clockwise to increase and counterclockwise to decrease the free tra vel. • Reconnect the control rod to the transmission le ver . Check f or correct free trav el.
Adjusting the Range Selector • Mov e the Hi-Lo shift lev er as f ar as it will go in both directions. Measure the distance between the le v er and the end of the slot.
Storing the Unit • Do the daily and 25-hour maintenance, but do not add gasoline. • Clean the tractor . P aint or oil bare metal surf aces to pre vent rust. NO TE: Do not use harsh or abrasiv e cleaners on any painted surf ace. Do not allow gasoline or oil to remain on any silk screened surf ace.
