2 TRANSDUCER MOUN TING 1. OPERATION COMMENT 1.1 Remove oxidization, bitumen or rubber from pipe su rfa ce where the transducer assembly is to be mounted. Very thick asbestos, concrete, old porous cast iron tubes and steel pipes with scaled or badly corroded internal surfaces ca n we aken the signal and prevent the unit from operating correctly.

Select fluid type now appears on the display. Use the scroll keys to select the fluid type and press ENTER . If the liquid you are measuring is not listed select Other and enter a liquid sound speed in metres/second. The sound spe ed information can be found in the back of the manual under Liquid Sound Speeds.
6 Main Menu - View/Edit Site Data The VIEW/EDIT SITE DATA mode can be accessed from the main menu. It allows the user to enter application details for up to 20 different sites. This facility is useful if a number of sites are being monitored on a regular basis.
7 Enter the temperature and pre ss ENTER. The instrument will display the separation distance before displaying flow. Follow t he instructions on the screen and the unit will read flow.
8 KEYPAD OPTIONS The output options can only be adjuste d and operated in flow mode. Pulse Output Key Use the scroll key to move the cursor up or down the display. To change the flow units press the key required. This will also change the flow units whe n returning to the flow mode.

10 Set up instrument - Correction Factor This is a facility that can be used whe n errors occur due to lack of straight pipe or the sensors have been pla ced too clo se to a bend, this could give an incorrect reading to what is expected.
