- 3 - 3 Back Panel The diagram (fig1.0) below shows the bro adband router’s back panel. The rou ter’s back panel is divided into three sec tions, LAN , WAN and Reset : 1) Local Area Net work (LAN) The 4 LAN ports are for you to connect to your L AN’s PCs, printer servers, hu bs and switches etc.

- 12 - 12 3.4 Wireless Setup Wireless Access Point builds a wireless LAN an d can let all PCs equipped with IEEE802.11b/g wireless network adaptor to connect to your Intr anet. It supports WEP encryption and MAC address filter to enhance the sec urity of your wireless network.

- 23 - 23 3.6 Firewall Configuration Port F iltering The firewall not only can obstruc t outside intruders from intruding your system , but also restricting the LAN users. Port Filtering can be used to restrict certain type of data packets from your LAN to Internet through the Router by adding it on the C urrent Filtering Table.
