Battery Installation Battery Installati on 1. Caution: Make certain the power switch is in the O FF position before inserting the batteries. 2. Inser (4)AA batteries in the batter y slot compartm ent in the bottom of the machine. Be certain the batteries are in the correct polarities as marked on the machi ne.
Threading the machine 1. Raise threa d spindle ( C) by grasping the ex posed top and pulling upwar d until thread spindle (C) is f ully extended. 2. Place thread spool ( E) on the thread spindle ( C) as show n.

Changing the Needle 1. Turn the han dwheel (K ) clockwise t o raise the needl e (R) to its hi ghest positi on. 2. Loosen t he needle clam p screw (O) by turning it counterclockwi se (toward y o u). You may need to use a shor t slotted scr ewdriv er or small pliers.
Precautions Set the power sw itch to OF F and don’ t touch the swi tc h when i nserting batt eries or pluggi ng in or replacing t he needle. Keep t he unit away from children. I f operated by a chil d, an adult shall watch the op eration. Set the swi tch to OFF after usage and rem ove t he batteries or pull off the pl ug.
