Labels The first label is found inside t he window of the scanner not ing that t his device i s a CDRH Class IIa laser product and EN 60825- 1 LASERKLASSE 1. The second label is locat ed on back of the scanner. This label contains infor mation such as t he model number, t he date of manufactur e and the seri al number.
Maintenance Smudges or dir t that appear s on the scanner w indow can i nterfere w ith pr oper scanning. Therefore, the window will need occasional cleaning. 1. Spray glass cl eaner onto li nt free, non-abrasiv e cleaning clot h. 2. Gently w ipe the scanner w indow .
Scanner Connections In order for the scanner t o maintain compl iance wi th applicabl e standards, al l cir cuits connected to the scanner must meet the r equirement s for SELV (Safety E xtra L ow V oltage) according to EN 60950. To avoid potenti al problems, do not pow er up the scanner until the communicati on cable is secur ed to the host.
A ttaching the Scanner to the Stand and Work S urface The scanner can be positioned i n a vert ical ori entation w ith t he Metr ologic stand ( Part #45478) .
Scanning Bar Codes The depth of field for t he scanner is 203mm to 457mm ( 8" to 18" ) from the scanner window . The symbol must be passed thr ough the scan area in or der for t he scanner to recogni ze t he bar code.
