99-8151 1 NO TE: Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prev ent an accidental short circuit. 1 Using a small flat blade screwdriver , unsnap and remove the liner from the tray above the center vents. (Figure A) 2 LEXUS IS 300 2001-2005 Remove (2) Phillips screws from inside the tray .
2 99-8151 D ASH DIS ASSEMBL Y Remove (4) Phillips screws securing climate controls to the factor y brack- ets and r emo ve the climate controls. 7 Remove (4) 10mm bolts securing radio/climate control assembly , unplug and remove assembly .
99-8151 KIT ASSEMBL Y Position the pocket trim-plate in the bottom of the radio housing . (Figure A) 1 Secure the mounting brack ets to radio housing/pock et assembly using (2) #8 x 3/8” Phillips truss head scr ews and (2) #8 x 3/8” Phillips pan head screws provided with the kit.
99-8151 KIT ASSEMBL Y DIN R ADIO PRO VISION WITH POCKET LEXUS IS 300 2001-2005 D F 4 E Mount the rear support brack et to the back of the pocket using (2) #8 x 3/8” Phillips truss head screws pro- vided with the kit. (Figure D) 4 Slide the DIN cage into the radio housing/pock et assembly and secur e by bending loc king tabs outward.
5 Position the pocket trim-plate in the bottom of the radio housing . (Figure A) 1 Attach the pocket to the poc ket trim- plate using (2) #8 x 3/8” Phillips truss head screws provided with the kit.
6 Align and engage the (3) tabs on the bottom of the climate controls to the top edge of the radio housing/pock et assembly . Secure the climate con- trols to the assembly using the (4) factor y Phillips screws previously removed from the climate controls.
7 Insert the double din spacer brackets into the mounting brackets. (Figure A) 1 Secure the mounting brack ets/spac- ers to radio housing using (2) #8 x 3/8” Phillips truss head screws and (2) #8 x 3/8” Phillips pan head screws provided with the kit.
8 Cut and remove the center divider from the double DIN trim-plate . (Figure D) 5 Snap the double DIN trim-plate onto the radio housing . (Figure E) 6 DOUBLE DIN R ADIO PRO VISION Continue with final assembly .
9 Insert the double din spacer brack- ets into the mounting brackets. (Figure A) 1 Secure the mounting brack ets/spac- ers to radio housing using (2) #8 x 3/8” Phillips truss head screws and (2) #8 x 3/8” Phillips pan head screws provided with the kit.
10 Snap the double DIN trim-plate onto the radio housing . (Figure D) 5 Continue with final assembly . 6 TW O ISO UNITS PRO VISION 99-8151 KIT ASSEMBL Y D Align and engage the (3) tabs on the bottom of the climate controls to the top edge of the radio housing assembly .
11 FINAL A SSEMBL Y 1 Locate the factor y wiring harness in the dash and make the connection as shown. Metra recomends using the proper mating adapter and making the connections as shown. (Isolate and individually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit.
