99-7950 1 D A SH DIS A SSEMBL Y 2003-2006 XL7 2003-2005 GR AND VIT AR A Remove (2) Phillips screws from the bottom of the trim surrounding the radio , A/C controls and c lock / hazard switch panel.
99-7950 2 D A SH DIS A SSEMBL Y 2003-2004 AERIO Unsnap and remove entire panel surrounding radio and A/C vents belo w radio. 1 Remove (4) Phillips screws holding radio to sub dash and remove radio.
99-7950 3 KIT A SSEMBL Y NO TE Y ou will need to cut and remove the tabs from the 99-7950 depending on which vehi- c le you are working with. The tabs are labeled with an (A) for the Aerio and a (V) for the grand Vitara and XL7. (See photo to right) NO TE There are two options to obtain proper fit of the 99-7950 in radio trim panel opening.
99-7950 4 KIT A SSEMBL Y DIN Head Unit Provision 1 Slide the DIN cage into the Radio Housing and secure by bending the metal locking tabs down. 2 Slide the after -market head unit into the cage and secure. Snap the trim plate into thee radio housing. 1 Mount the ISO Brackets to the head unit with the screws supplied with the unit.
5 FINAL A SSEMBL Y 1 Locate the factor y wiring harness in the dash and make the connection as shown. Metra recomends using the proper mating adapter and making the connections as shown. (Isolate and individually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit.
