8 The ASWC-1canbeprogrammedintwoways.(1)Itcandoitbyitself through AutoDetectMode,or(2)itcanbemanuallyprogrammedin non-datavehicles. Itisstronglyrecommendtostartwiththe AutoDetectModefirst.
9 2) T urn the ignition on; the LED will start flashing red rapidly which means the ASWC-1 is looking for the vehicle and the radio. Go to step 4.
10 Auto Detect Mode Soyoutriedtheautodetectfeatureand at theendtheLEDdid notstaysolid “red”.Insteaditstartedflashing, meaningthattheASWC-1 didnotdetectthevehicle.
11 Note: Not every radio will have all the possible SWC commands on the steering wheel. Aftermarket radios that do not have Bluetooth will not recognize the PTT (Push T o T alk) or “On/Off Hook” commands; however those buttons can be manually programmed to do other commands in some cases.
12 5) Nowpressandholdthe“V olumeDown”buttonuntiltheLED goessolidred. ReleasethebuttonandtheLEDwillturn“Off”. The “VolumeDown”hasnowbeenprogrammed.
13 11) ThentheLEDwillflash,upto11times, dependingonwhatradio the ASWC-1thinksit’sconnectedto. 12) Makesurethenumberofflashesmatchwha tradioyouhave installed.
14 5) Hereisthecharttoshowhowmanypressesofthe“VolumeUp” buttonisneededforwhichradioyouaretryingtoprogram: 6) Oncetheradiomanufacturerhasbeenselectedhold “VolumeDown” for at least5seconds.
15 3) Releasethe “VolumeDown”andtheLEDwillgo “Off”. We arenow inradioprogrammingmode. 4) Pressandreleasethe “VolumeUp”buttonforthedesiredradio number(pleaserefertothe ASWC-1legend).
16 Remapping the SWC (Steering Wheel Control) Buttons OnceyouhavetheASWC-1programmedyoucanthenchangethe steeringwheelcontrolbuttonassignment(s). Suchas,programingthe “SeekUp” buttonasa“Mute” function.
17 Resetting Orginal SWC Settings Ifforanyreasonafterremappingthesteeringwheelcontrolsyou wanttorevertbacktotheoriginalsteeringwheelcontrolsettings, followthesesteps: 1) Withinthefirst20secondsofturningtheignitionon.
