6 INST ALLA TION AC ADAPTER CONNECTION Connect the AC adapter (included) to an AC outlet having 120V , 60Hz AC only . Plug the small end into the DC jack on the rear of the unit. CAUTION : Do not touch the AC adapter with wet hands. Fully insert the plug without exposing any part of the blade.
7 OPERA TION Press the AM/FM/Power On button to turn the unit on and select radio. Repeatedly press the AM/FM/Power On button to select AM or FM. 1 1 MANUAL TUNING: Repeatedly press the Tune/Skip/Search l 1 or m 2 button to manually advance the frequency in the display up or down until the desired frequency appears.
8 Press the AM/FM/Power On button to turn the unit on and select radio. Repeatedly press the AM/FM/Power On button to select AM or FM. 1 1 Select a station using the Tune/Skip/ Search l 1 or m 2 button. Press the PROGRAM button 3 ; the preset number will blink in the display .
9 INSERTING A CD OPERA TION (CONTINUED) Press the AM/FM/Power On button to turn the unit on and select radio. Repeatedly press the AM/FM/Power On button to select AM or FM. 1 1 Press the SEEK button 1 ; the unit will then seek through all of the radio stations and program the first 9 strong stations.
10 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) With a CD inserted (see previous page), press the Play/Pause ( ®p )/CD/ Power On button to turn the unit on and select CD; playback will start automatically . 2 1 If in the Stop mode, press the Play/ Pause ( ®p )/CD/Power On button to start playback.
11 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) With a CD inserted (see page 9), press the Play/Pause ( ®p )/CD/ Power On button to turn the unit on and select CD; playback will start automatically . 2 1 Pre ss t he Tune/Skip/Search l 1 or m 2 button to select a track to repeat.
12 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) With a CD inserted (see page 9) , press the Play/Pause ( ®p )/CD/ Power On button to turn the unit on and select CD; playback will start automatically .
13 RANDOM PLA YBACK T o play the tracks on the CD in a random order , while in the Stop mode, press the CD MODE button three times; “RANDOM” will appear in the display . 1 Press the PLA Y/P AUSE ( ®p )/CD/ Power On button 1 ; the unit will randomly play each track on the CD and then stop.
14 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) TO SET OR RESET THE ACTUAL TIME Press the TIME button (or wait approx. 15 seconds) and the time will be set. 3 W ith the power off, press the T IME but to n; the time will blink. 1 Press the MINUTE button 1 to set the present minute and the HOUR button 2 to set the present hour .
15 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) TO SET OR RESET THE ALARM TIME 1 2 3 If set to CD, within 5 seconds, set the track number using the T une/Skip/Search l 1 or m 2 button. When the alarm time is reached, the unit will start playback on the track that you selected and the tracks following it, then stop.
16 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) NOTES: • It is not necessary to set the volume level for the alarm. When the alarm time is reached, the alarm volume level will be set to the default (Medium Level) and it will increase one step every five seconds continuously until the maximum volume level is reached.
17 OPERA TION (CONTINUED) T o shut the alarm off, press the desired ALARM 1 1 or ALARM 2 2 button and the alarm time will be reset for the next day . Press the desired ALARM 1 1 or ALARM 2 2 button repeatedly until the alarm time and the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 indicator disappears from the display to turn off the alarm and not set it for the next day .
18 CARE AND MAINTENANCE Caring for Compact Discs • T reat the disc carefully . Handle the disc only by its edges. Never allow your fingers to come in contact with the shiny , unprinted side of the disc. • Do not attach adhesive tape, stickers, etc.
