– 5 – INTRODUCTION Bef ore you begin, w e urge you to tak e a f ew min utes to completely read this manual so that y ou can get the best use of the equipment. This manual details the set-up , operation, specifications and optional accessories of the Meade 70-AZ-ADR altazimuth refracting telescope.
– 6 – RED DO T VIEWFINDER ALIGNMENT I t is recommended that you perf or m steps 1 through 5 of this procedure dur ing the da ytime and step 6 at night. 1. Loosen the horizontal and v er tical locks of your telescope , so that the telescope can mov e freely .
– 7 – Look f or diff erent f eatures on the Moon. The most ob vious f eatures are craters. In fact y ou can see cr aters within craters . Some craters ha ve bright lines about them. These are called ra ys and are the result of material thrown out of the crater when it was struc k by a colliding object.
