This manual details the set-up , operation, specifications and optional accessories of the T elestar 60-AZ-A altazimuth refracting telescope .
– 6 – 11. Inser t the diagonal mirror ( 13, Fig. 1 ) into the f ocuser drawtube ( 15, Fig. 1 ) and the MA 25mm ey epiece ( 1, Fig. 1 ) into the diagonal mirror . Tighten the respective thumbscrews to a firm feel. 12. The telescope is now completely assemb led.
– 7 – 3. If you are observing an astronomical object (the Moon, a planet, star , etc.) you will notice that the object will begin to mov e slowly through the telescopic field of view . This mov ement is caused by the rotation of the Ear th and makes an object appear to be mo ving in the telescope’ s field of view .
F or e xample, if y ou are using a 25mm ey epiece, the resulting power will be: P ower = 700mm ÷ 25mm = 28X. F or e xample, if y ou are using a 9mm ey epiece, the resulting power will be: P ower = 700mm ÷ 9mm = 78X. The pur pose of a Barlow lens is to increase the magnification possib le with a given e yepiece.
