To ensure the success of the installation, be sure to read the instructions and review the diagrams thor oughly before beginning . 2. To avoid possible electric shock, be sure electricity is turned off at the main power box before wiring .
Wa r n ings: • Disconnect power by removing fuse or turning off circuit breaker befor e installing the fan and/or optional lighting. Support dir ectly from building structur e.
1. Unpack your fan and check the contents. Do not discard the car ton. If warranty replacement or r epair is ever necessar y , the fan should be returned in original packing. Remove all par ts and hardwar e. Do not lay motor housing on its side, or the decorative housing may shift, be bent or damaged.
P REP ARA TION : Ve rify you have all parts before beginning the installation. Check foam insert closely for missing par ts. Remove motor from packing. T o avoid damage to finish, assemble motor on soft padded surface or use the original foam inset in motor box.
I NST ALLING T HE F AN 5 This fan ha s two installati on options: I NST ALLA TION : The HUGGER method is preferr ed if maximum headroom is r equired. The ceiling must be horizontal, not sloped. Blades will be approximately 8˝ fr om the ceiling. Air flow will be reduced when the fan is installed using the HUGGER method.
6 I NST ALLING T HE F AN – H UGGER STYLE I NST ALLA TION O PTION #1: H UGGER STYLE MOUNTING 1. Remove the plastic trim ring from the canopy to expose the 6 mounting holes. The downr od, ball, cotter pin, and collar cover will not be used for this mounting (Fig.
1. Carefully support fan body (motor) in its styr ofoam packing with the mounting collar (where the wir es come out) facing upward. 2. Remove ball from downr od by loosening set screw in the side of the ball. Slide ball down and r emove ball pin; re move ball.
1. Lift ball/downrod/fan into hanger bracket opening. NOTE: The tab opposite hanger bracket opening should fit in slot on ball. 2. Make wire connections, (r efer to section titled “Electrical Connections”). 3. Slide canopy up and fasten to hanger bracket with 4 screws pr ovided.
