18 Wall Mounting Your Tele phone* The 9000MWD is designed to be conv eniently wall mounted . Note: A 9000MWD wall mounting kit must be us ed (not included) Fol low th ese eas y step s: 1. The handset retaining clip m ust be engag ed to secure the ha ndset when hanging up.
19 Power Adapte r “LINE” Connectio n The power adapte r “LI NE” connection i s used to conn ect the t elephone l ines from the wall jack to the te lepho ne. Using the 15 ’ modula r telephone line co rd provided, conne ct one e nd of th e cord to the RJ14 t elephone ja ck on the wa ll or base board.
Install the H andset Battery To install the hands et batte ry; 1. Open the batte ry cov er as s hown, 2. Insert the battery pack. Mat ch the polar ity mark s from the battery to the ca se (+ to +). 3. When properly inst alled, th e battery will slide into pos ition.
20 Message Waiting Lamp The 9000MWD su pports a low- voltage LED messag e waiting lamp or 9 0VDC neon. To turn O N, sl ide th e swit ch to the “LED” or “NEON” position. The switch is located undernea th the overl ay and face plate o n the to p of the base.
Guest Servi ce Keys (Speed Di al Memory) The 9000MWD has 10 o ne-touch spe ed dial mem ory locations tha t are used as a conv en- ience for d ialing frequently used numbers.
22 The TouchLite TM Feature TouchLite TM is a pa tent- pending new innova- tion th at integ rate s the v isual messag e wai ting lamp and a speed di al mem ory k ey into one function . It allow s easy- access for g uests to re trieve voic e mail or fron t des k mess ages .
Programming A Flash Into Memory The “F lash” k ey is a storable f unction int o mem ory that is use d to pro vide a 600m S tim ed line bre ak. This func tion may be requir ed for accessing line f eatures provided by you r telephone sy stem or local teleph one company .
Placing A Call Using The Handse t Follow the instr uctions be low for placing a cal l using the hand set. 1. Lift the handse t from the base and pre ss the ON/OF F key to activ ate the line. 2. Dial out by us ing the num eric dial pa d on the handset .
26 Placing A Call Using The Base Unit Follow the inst ructions below for p lacing a call using the base unit. 1. The handse t can either be on or o ff the base cradle when di aling from the base unit. 2. Press the SPEA KER key to activ ate. 3. Dial out by using the num eric dial pad on th e bas e unit .
Locating The Hand set The 9000MWD is equipped with a handset locato r featu re key locat ed on th e bas e. Simply press the “LOCATE” button on the base uni t. The h andset will beep for about 15 seconds . Once the handset is loc ated, sim ply press the ON/OFF key to activ ate y our handse t.
Using The Handset Volume Control A convenient h andset vol ume control is provided. This v olum e control will adjust the loudness of the hand set. The loudnes s can be ad justed in seven (8) step s up or down. Using The Speake rphone Volume Control A rocker v olum e switch is prov ided to adjust the loudness of the speakerph one.
Line Status In dicators (Base Unit) The 9000MWD has v isual LED indicat ors located on t he base un it tha t indic ates the status of the telephon e. Ringing of Line Th e in us e LE D blinks ra pidly GR EEN t o show ring. Line In-Use The in use LED s hows a st eady GREEN color when base in off- hook.
Using The Data Port The 9000MWD i s equipp ed with a conven ient port on th e right side of the bas e unit. This modular re ceptac le is used to pl ug in an y standard telephone device such as a com puter modem , answering m achine or fax machin e.
Using The Hold F eature (on Handset) The “Hold ” key is used to plac e a caller o n hold. To use, simply press the “Hold” key on the handset. The LED lig ht on the hand set will ind icate that the line i s on hold and the base unit LED will b link ra pidly Green.
