3 ENGLISH CHARGING THE BA TTER Y P A CK Once the rechargeable battery pack is loaded, power is immediately supplied automatically to the remote controller , and Home mode is display ed on the LCD . When it is fi rst unpack ed, the supplied batter y pack is not fully charged.
4 ENGLISH NAMES AND FUNCTIONS q PO WER ON and OFF buttons These buttons are used when controlling de vices that hav e been set with separately powered on and off remote commands. w SOURCE ON/OFF button This button is used when controlling de vices that hav e been set with a single power on/off remote command.
5 ENGLISH !0 USB port This por t is used to connect the remote controller and a PC with the supplied USB cable to enab le editing with the Wizz.it 3 editor software. !1 Char ging terminal This terminal is used to connect the supplied AC adapter used to charge the remote controller .
6 ENGLISH z DC jack This jack connects to the supplied A C adapter . x Antenna This is a rod antenna for receiving RF signals . c IR blasters (upper direction) These transmit IR signals. The Wizz.it 3 editor software can be used to turn transmission of the IR signals on and off.
7 ENGLISH INST ALLA TION MOUNTING THE RX3001 T O A W ALL MOUNTING LOCA TION PRECA UTIONS • Before mounting, check the material and structure of the mounting location. If the location does not hav e the proper material or str ucture, the RX3001 can f all and cause an injur y .
8 ENGLISH 2. The positional relationship between the RX3001 ke y holes and the screw mounting positions are shown in the fi gure below . Notes: • When mounting the screws to the wall, leave a space between the wall and screw cap as shown in the fi gure.
9 ENGLISH USING THE REMO TE CONTROLLER WITH INFRARED RA YS By default, the remote controller uses infr ared (IR) signals to operate de vices. This means that you ha ve to point the IR sending ey e of the remote controller towards the de vices you are operating.
10 ENGLISH CONNECTING THE RX3001 WITH O THER DEVICES 1. CONNECTING T O MARANTZ EQUIPMENT Note: When connecting to other equipment, set the REMOTE CONTROL switch on the rear panel of the connected equipment to EXT . Connect a MONO cable to IR Flasher IN.
11 ENGLISH 2. CONNECTING T O NON-MARANTZ EQUIPMENT Notes: • When affi xing the IR emitter, be sure to affi x it in front of the IR receiver of the equipment to which it will be connected. • Do not connect a commercial dual IR emitter to the IR output jack.
12 ENGLISH SETUP SETTING THE IR OUTPUT LEVEL The DIP switches at the bottom of the RX3001 can be used to set the IR output le vels from IR output jacks 1 to 3 and IR output jac ks 4 to 6.
13 ENGLISH SETTING THE GROUP ID SELECT OR The RC3001 can use the Wizz.it 3 editor to set the group ID for each de vice. If a different ID signal is sent from the remote controller , no control signal is output from the RX3001. Normally , set to ID1 when not using the group ID function.
14 ENGLISH B ASIC OPERA TION RC3001 BUTT ON SETTINGS The Wizz.it 3 editor software can be used to make the settings f or the IR Command, LINK, JUMP , One T ouch Operation (Macro) and other functions in the RC3001. This enables a customiz ed user interface, optimized f or the customer s environment, to be built.
15 ENGLISH O THER OPERA TION MAIN MENU The various settings f or the remote device are made in the main menu. ENTERING THE MAIN MENU 1. Press the Home button to enter Home mode for the RC3001. 2. Hold down the Home b utton and Menu button at the same time f or three seconds to display MAIN MENU on the LCD .
16 ENGLISH 4. This screen changes to HOME mode . Press the button ne xt to the display ed device name whose commands y ou want to learn. Note: In Home mode, learning cannot be performed with the SOFT button using the procedure shown below . Use the W izz.
17 ENGLISH 2. TIMER The timer function of the RC3001 can be used to send a preset remote controller command at a programmed time . The Wizz.it 3 editor can be used to operate multiple de vices. One T ouch Operation (Macro) can also use the timer function for tr ansmission.
18 ENGLISH 4. Press a button next to the EVERYD A Y or ONE TIME indicators on the LCD to set timer operation to either e veryday or one- time only operation.
19 ENGLISH OPERA TION ON/OFF SETTINGS 1. Press the button ne xt to the ON/OFF indicator in the TIMER menu screen on the LCD to display the timer oper ation ON/OFF setting screen. 2. Press the button ne xt to the TIMER ON (Enable) or TIMER OFF (Disab le) indicators on the LCD to either enable or disable timer operation.
20 ENGLISH 3. SYS.SETUP Display the MAIN MENU on the LCD of the RC3001, then press the button ne xt to the SYS. SETUP indicator . The items below can be set in the SYS .
21 ENGLISH B ACK LIGHT (B A CKLIGHT ILLUMINA TION TIME SETTING) Press the LIGHT button on the RC3001 to turn on the backlight, then set the time until the backlight turns off. 1. Press the button next to the BACKLIGHT indicator in the SYS.SETUP menu screen in the LCD to display the bac klight illumination time setting screen.
22 ENGLISH LCD (LCD SETTING) Press the button ne xt to the LCD indicator in the SYS.SETUP menu screen in the LCD . The LCD setting menu is displa yed. LCD TIMER (LCD timer setting) This sets the time that the LCD remains on, after a button is pressed on the RC3001.
23 ENGLISH CONTRAST (LCD CONTRAST ADJUSTMENT) This enables the LCD contrast to be adjusted. Adjust for maxim um visibility according to your viewing en vironment. 1. The LCD setting menu is display ed, and so press the buttons ne xt to CONTRAST in the LCD display .
24 ENGLISH MEM CLEAR (INITIALIZA TION SETTING) This returns the settings made in the RC3001 to their initial settings. 1. Press the button ne xt to the MEM CLEAR indicator in the SYS.SETUP menu screen in the LCD to display the initialization setting screen.
