– 13 – EN Connection to an audio system Stereo system NO TES: • When using Dolby Digital or DTS decoder , set “ DOLBY DIGIT AL ” or “ DTS ” to “ ON ” accordingly for audio output in the setup mode (Refer to page 24). Set it to “ OFF ” f or the decoder that is not used currently .

Getting started •T urn on the power of the TV , amplifier and any other components which are connected to the D VD Player . • Make sure the TV and audio receiver (commercially av ailable) are set to the correct channel. Press the PO WER but t on. • “P-ON” will appear br iefly on the display panel.
– 16 – EN PLA YING A DISC During playbac k, press the PA USE but t on. Press the g or h but t on. • Slow motion pla yback will begin and sound will be muted. Press the g or h bu tton repeat- edly to select the required speed. • Slow f orward or re verse speed is differ- ent depending on the disc.
Press the SEARCH MODE b utton. • The track search displa y appears. Within 30 seconds, select a desired track n umber using the Numeric b uttons . For single digits press 0 first if the total trac k of the disc is more than 10 tracks . • Playbac k will star t at the selected track.
When a CD-R or CD-RW disc with MP3, JPEG or WMA files is inser ted in the D VD pla yer and the MENU b utton is pressed, the FILE LIST will appear on display . The number of tracks is also displa yed on the front panel. Press the Cursor bu tt ons ( K or L ) to select the desired group (f older) or track.
– 19 – EN PLA YING A DISC Applicable MP3 file Remarks Sampling fre- quency 44.1kHz 48kHz • It is prohibited to record MP3 sound on a digital device when connection is made digitally . T ype MPEG1 audio lay er 3 • MP3 files recorded at fix ed bit rate of 112 kbps or high- er are recommended.
Y ou can check information on the current file. Press the DISPLA Y bu tt on. • The name of the file currently in play will be displa yed. <Example: MP3> Press the DISPLA Y b utton to show the tr ack number , the elapsed time, the repeat status, and the pla yback status at the top of the screen.
– 21 – EN PLA YING A DISC Some D VD discs contain scenes which have been shot simultaneously from v ar ious angles. Y ou can change the camera angle when the mark ( ) appears on the screen. Press the ANGLE bu tton dur ing playbac k. • The selected angle will be display ed on the display bar at the top of the screen.
Y ou can enjoy surround-sound effect with tw o speakers. During playbac k, press the MODE b utton repeatedly until the Vir tual Surround setting appears. Press the ENTER b utton to set it 1(Natur al effect), 2(Emphasised eff ect) or OFF . Press the RETURN b utton to e xit.
• Select 4:3 LETTER BO X f or a black bars appears on top and bottom of the screen. • Select 4:3 P AN & SCAN for a full height picture with both sides trimmed. STILL MODE (Default : A UT O) • Press the Cursor b uttons ( K or L ) for an item selection (A UTO , FIELD , or FRAME), then press the ENTER b utton.
Press the Numeric b uttons to enter your 4-digit pass word. • When doing this for the first time, enter any 4-digit n umber by pressing the Numeric but - tons (except f or 4737), then press the ENTER b utton. That n umber will be used as the passw ord from the second time onward.
