5 An adapter Fig. “B” and “C” is av ailable f or connecting Fig. “A” type plugs to two- prong receptacles. The g reen-colored r igid ear , lug, etc., e xtending from the adapter must be con- nected to a permanent ground, such as a proper ly g rounded outlet box.

7 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION CA UTION: • Alwa ys be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged bef ore adjusting or checking function on the tool. Adjusting the depth of cut Place the tool on a flat surf ace. Press the lock le ver do wn and lowe r the tool body until the bit just touches the flat sur- f ace.
8 CA UTION: • Since e xcessive cutting ma y cause overload of the motor or difficulty in controlling the tool, the depth of cut should not be more than 15 mm (9/16 ” ) at a pass when cutting groov es with an 8 mm (5/16 ” ) diameter bit.
9 Speed adjusting dial For model RP1101 only The tool speed can be changed by turning the speed adjust- ing dial to a given n umber setting from 1 to 6. Higher speed is obtained when the dial is turned in the direc- tion of number 6. And low er speed is obtained when it is turned in the direction of number 1.
10 Inser t the bit all the wa y into the collet chuck and withdra w it very slightly ( approx. 2mm;1/16 ” ). Then tighten the collet chuck securely with the two wrenches .
11 • When using the straight guide, be sure to install it on the right side in the feed direction. This will help to k eep it flush with the side of the workpiece. Straight guide (optional accessory) The straight guide is eff ectively used f or straight cuts when chamfe r ing or groo ving.
12 T o install the templet guide, inser t the templet guide in center hole in the base plate and secure in place with the lock n ut. Secure the templet to the workpiece. Place the tool on the templet and mov e the tool with the templet guide sliding along the side of the templet.
13 Use a screwdriv er to remove the brush holder caps. T ake out the worn carbon br ushes , inser t the new ones and secure the brush holder caps. T o maintain product SAFETY and RELIABILITY , repairs.
