3 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Genera l Inst ruct ions – T o en sure corre ct oper ation, user h as t o read this i nstruc tion manua l to ma ke himself familiar wit h the h andling of the Brush Cutter/String trimmer . U sers insufficiently informed will risk danger to themselves as w ell as others due to improper handling.
4 Start t he Brush Cutte r/Str ing trim mer only in ac corda nce with the ins truct ions. Do not use any other methods for star ting the engine! – Use the Brush Cut ter/Strin g trimmer and the tools only for such applications as specified. – Only start the Brush Cutter/Str ing trimmer engine, af ter the enti re as sembly is done.
5 Meth od of ope ratio n – Only use the Brush cutter/S tring trimmer in good light and visibility . During the winter s eason bew are o f slipper y o r wet areas, ice and sn ow (risk of slipping). Always ensure a safe footing. – Never cut above wais t height.

11 T o mee t the appl icable safe ty prov isions, only t he tool/ pr otector combinati ons as indicated in the table must be used. Be sure to u se ge nuine MAKIT A cut ter b lades or ny lon cut ting h ead. – The cu tter bl ade m ust be well polish ed, f ree of cracks or b reaka ge.
12 Turn t he m achin e upsi de down , an d you can r eplace the cutt er blad e or t he nylon cutting head easily . – Insert the hex wrench thr ough the hole in the gear case and rotate t he receiver washer (3) until it is locked with the hex wrench.
13 Handling f uel Utmost care is requi red w hen handli ng fu el. Fu el ma y contain s ubsta nces similar to solvents. Refuel either in a well vent ilated room or ou tdoors. Do not inhale fuel vap ors, avoid any conta ct of fuel or oil with your skin.
14 CORRECT HANDLING OF MACHINE Attachment of shoulder strap – Adjust th e strap lengt h so that the cutt er blad e will be kept paral lel with the ground. Detachment – In an emer gency , push the notc hes (1) at both sides, and you can de tach the machine from you.
15 ST OPPING – Relea se th e thro ttl e lever (6) fu lly , and when the engi ne rp m has lower ed, push the I-O switch (1) to 㵰 O 㵱 po sition the engine will now stop. – Be awar e that th e cut ting head may not st op im mediat ely and allow it to slow down fully .
16 NYLON C UTTING HEAD The nylon cutting head is a dual string trimmer head c apable of both automatic and bump & feed mechanisms. The nylo n cutting head wil l auto matically fee d out the prope r leng th of nylon cord by the changes in cen trifugal force caused by increasin g or decreasing rpms.
17 – Align th e protrusion on the undersi de of the c over with the s lots of the eyelets. Then p ush c over fi rmly onto th e hou sing to secu re it.
18 0.6mm -0. 7mm (0.024”-0.028”) Suctio n head in th e fuel ta nk – The fu el fill er (5 ) of the sucti on h ead i s use d to fill er th e fu el requ ired by the carburetor. – A period ical visua l insp ection of the fuel fil ter is to be condu cted.
19 ST ORAGE Fault location – When the machine is in storage for a long time, drain fuel fro m the fuel tank and carb uret or , as follo ws: Drain al l fuel from th e fuel tank. Disp ose of properly and in accorda nce with all local laws. – Remove t he spark plug and a few dro ps of oil in to the sp ark plug hole.
20 EMISS ON COMP LIANCE PE RIOD For handheld engine : The Emissions Compliance Period referred to on the Emissions Compliance label indicates the number of operating hours for which the engine has been shown to meet Federal emission requirements. Category C=50 hours, B=125 hours, and A=300 hours.
