6 Permissib le shearing thickness The groov e on the yoke serves as a thic kness gauge for shearing mild or stainless steel plate. If the material fits within the groov e, it is shearable . The thickness of materials to be sheared depends upon the type (strength) of the material.
7 Some tools hav e one or more thin washers between the upper blade and the blade holder . Be sure to use the same number of thin w ashers when reassem- bli ng. NO TE: • No thin washers are used f or the lower blade. Install the upper blade and tighten the upper b lade securing bolt with the hex wrench.
8 When installing the lower b lade onto the yoke, the lo wer blade should be pressed against the yok e so as to be contacting the bevelled portions A and B of the yok e and the tip C of the lower blade positioning screw while y ou tighten the lower b lade secur ing bolt.
9 Maximum cutting width Stay within the specified maxim um cutting width (A): Case of length 1,800 mm. Minimum cutting radius Minimum cutting radius is 30 mm when cutting 1.0 mm mild steel.
