7 Selecting action mode For Model HR2445 This tool emplo ys an action mode changing knob. Select one of the two modes suitable f or your w or k needs by using this knob . For rotation only , tur n the knob so that the arrow on the knob points tow ard the symbol on the tool body .
8 Rotation only F or dr illing in wood, metal or plastic materials, depress the lock b utton and rotate the action mode changing knob to the symbol. Use a twist drill bit or wood bit. To r q u e l i m i t e r The torque limiter will actuate when a cer tain torque lev el is reached.
9 Bit grease Coat the bit shank head bef orehand with a small amount of bit grease (about 0.5 - 1 g). This chuck lubrication assures smooth action and longer ser- vice lif e. Installing or removing the bit Clean the bit shank and apply bit grease bef ore installing the bit.
10 Bit angle (when chipping, scaling or demolishing) For Model HR2455 only The bit can be secured at the desired angle. T o change the bit angle, depress the loc k button and rotate the action mode changing knob to the O symbol. T ur n the bit to the desired angle.
11 OPERA TION Hammer drilling operation Set the action mode changing knob to the symbol. P osition the bit at the desired location f or the hole, then pull the s witch tr igger . Do not fo rce the tool. Light pressure gives best results. K eep the tool in position and pre vent it from slipping aw ay from the hole.
12 Drilling in wood or metal Use the optional drill chuck assembly . When installing it, refer to “ Installing or removing drill bit ” descr ibed on the pre vious page. Set the action mode changing knob to the symbol. Y ou can drill up to 13 mm(1/2 ” ) diameter in metal and up to 32 mm(1-1/4 ” ) diameter in wood.
