5 CA UTION: • Before plugging in the tool, alw a ys check to see that the switch trigger actuates properly and returns to the “ OFF ” position when released. • Switch can be lock ed in “ ON ” position for ease of operator comf or t during extended use.
6 Mount the inner flange onto the spindle. Fit the wheel/ disc on the inner flange and screw the loc k nut with its protrusion facing downw ard (f acing toward the wheel). T o tighten the lock nut, press the shaft lock firmly so that the spindle cannot rev olv e, then use the loc k nut wrench and securely tighten clockwise.
7 During the break-in period w ith a new wheel, do not work the grinder in the B direction or it will cut into the work- piece. Once the edge of the wheel has been rounded off by use , the wheel may be w orked in both A and B direc- tion.
8 Use a screwdriver to remo ve the brush holder caps. T ake out the worn carbon brushes, inser t the new ones and secure the brush holder caps. T o maintain product SAFETY and RELIABILITY , repairs, any other maintenance or adjustment should be per- formed by Makita A uthorized or F actor y Service Centers, alwa ys using Makita replacement parts.
