8 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION CA UTION: • Alwa ys be sure that the tool is switched off and the batter y cartr idge is remov ed bef ore adjusting or checking function on the tool. 11 Switch action CA UTION: • Bef ore inser ting the batter y car tridge into the tool, alwa ys check to see that the s witch trigger actuates properly and retur ns to the “ OFF ” position when released. T o star t the tool, simply pull the switch trigger .
12 CA UTION: • Alwa ys set the speed change lev er fully to the correct position. If you operate the tool with the speed change le ver positioned halfwa y between the “ I ” side and “ II ” side, the tool ma y be damaged. • Do not use the speed change le ver while the tool is running.
13 Installing or removing driver bit or drill bit T ur n the slee ve counterclockwise to open the chuc k jaws. Place the bit in the chuck as f ar as it will go . T urn the sleev e clockwise to tighten the chuc k. T o remove the bit, turn the sleev e counterclockwise.
14 Screwdriving operation Place the point of the driver bit in the scre w head and apply pressure to the tool. Star t the tool slowly and then increase the speed gradually .
15 CA UTION: • Pressing e xcessively on the tool will not speed up the drilling. In fact, this e xcessive pressure will only serve to damage the tip of your bit, decrease the tool perf or mance and shor ten the service life of the tool. • There is a tremendous f orce ex er ted on the tool/bit at the time of hole break through.
