5 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS General I nstructions - T o ensur e correct operation, user has to read this ins truction manual to make himself f amiliar with the handling of the Brush Cutter/Str ing T rimmer . Users insufficiently inf or med will risk danger to themselves as well as others due to improper handling.
6 Refueling - Alwa ys stop the engine during refueling, k eep awa y fr om open flames and do not smoke . - Alwa ys wear protective glov es dur ing refueling. Change and clean protective clothing at regular inter vals. - Be careful not to spill either fuel or oil for en vironmental protection.
7 Maintena nce instruction s - The condition of the Brush Cutter/String T rimmer mus t be check ed before operation, in par ticular of the cutting tool, the prot ective de vices and also the shoulder strap. Special attention must be paid to the cutting blade which mus t be correctly sharpened.
8 MOUNTING OF HANDLE CA UTION: Before doing any work on the Brush Cutter/Str ing T rimmer , alwa ys stop the engine and pull the s park plug connec- tor off the sp ark plug. Always w ear protective glov es. CA UTION: Star t the engine of Brush Cu tter/String T rimmer af ter making sure that it is asse mbled completely .
9 For # BCM2600 and # BCM3300 Fix the protector (1) to the clamp (3) with two bolts. For # BCM2310, BCM2610 and BCM3310 Fix the protector (1) to the clamp (3) with two bolts. MOUNTING OF CUTTER BLADE OR NYLON CUTTER HEAD T urn the Br ush Cutter/String T rimm er upside down and replace the cutter blade or the nylon c utting head.
10 FUELS/REFUEL ING Handling fuel Utmost care required when handling fuel. Fuel may contain substances similar to solvents. Refuel either i n a well ventilated room or outdoors. Do not inhale fuel vapors, a void any contact of f uel or oil with y our skin.
11 POINTS IN OPERA TION AND HO W TO ST O P Fol low the applicable accident prev ention regulations. Starting Mov e at least 3 m aw ay from the place of refueling. Place the m achine on a flat, bare surface so that the cutting blade does not contact the surface of g round or any other objects.
12 NYLON CUTTING HEAD Replacin g the n ylon cor d 1 First, stop t he engine. Press on the housing latches (A) inward to li ft off the cov er assembly (B). Then remove t he spool (D). 2 Remove any e xcess nylon cord from the spool. 3 Cut a length of the nylon cord that is a pproximately 7.
