7 Installing or remo ving wheel guar d CA UTION: • When using a depressed center grinding wheel/Multi- disc, fle x wheel or wire wheel brush, the wheel guard must be fitted on the tool so that the closed side of the guard alwa ys points toward the oper ator .
8 Installing or remo ving flex wheel (optional accessory) W ARNING: • Alwa ys use supplied guard when fle x wheel is on tool. Wheel can shatter during use and guard helps to reduce chances of personal injur y . F ollow instructions for depressed center grinding wheel/ Multi-disc but also use plastic pad o ver wheel.
9 CA UTION: • After operation, alwa ys s witch off the tool and wait until the wheel has come to a complete stop bef ore putting the tool down. Grinding and sanding operation AL W A YS hold the tool firmly with one hand on rear handle and the other on the side handle.
10 Operation with wire wheel brush (optional accessory) CA UTION: • Check oper ation of wire wheel br ush b y running tool with no load, insuring that no one is in front of or in line with the wire wheel brush. • Do not use wire wheel brush that is damaged, or which is out of balance.
11 Replacing carbon brushes When the resin insulating tip inside the carbon brush is e xposed to contact the commutator , it will automatically shut off the motor . When this occurs, both carbon brushes should be replaced. K eep the carbon br ushes clean and free to slip in the holders.
