Charging Connect the battery to the charger using the adaptor cord. Then plug the charger into the power source. The charging light will illuminate and charging will begin. When the charg- ing light goes out at a certain time, the charging is complete.
Installing or removing the drill bit CAUTION : Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the batterv is disconnected from the tool before installing or removing the bit. To install the bit, place it in the chuck as far as it will go. Tighten the chuck by hand.
Connecting the battery to the tool Connect the battery to the tool using the adaptor cord. To prevent the adaptor cord from being accidentally disconnected, hook the cord to the strain relief hook on the battery. Carrying the battery Hook the battery to your waist belt.
Screwdriving operation Place the point of the driver bit in the screw head and apply pressure to the tool. Start the tool slowly and then increase the speed gradually. Release the switch trigger just as the screw bottoms out. The electric brake will then stop the tool immediately, preventing the screw and/or bit from being damaged.
MAINTENANCE CAUTION: Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the battery is disconnected from the tool before attempting to perform inspection or maintenance.

Recycling the battery The only way to dispose of a Makita battery is to recycle it. The law prohibits any other method of disposal.
