6 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION CA UTION: • Alwa ys be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged bef ore adjusting or checking function on the tool. Adjusting depth of cut T o adjust the shoe, tur n the thumb scre w to loosen. Slide the shoe to the desired position and tighten the thumb screw securely .
7 • When using the bit with 6.35 mm (1/4 ” ) shank diameter , first remov e the adapter from the collet cone, then install the bit. T o install the bit, inser t the bit all the wa y into the collet cone. Press the shaft lock to k eep the shaft stationar y and use the wrench to tighten the collet nut securely .
8 When inser ting the drywall guide bit into the dr yw all, care- fully inser t the bit straight until the shoe base is in full contact with the material. Mov e the tool slowly with a constant pressure in a clockwise direction to make the cut. When cutting straight line, clamp a str aight board fir mly to the material and use it as a guide.
9 Align the projections in the circular guide with the groov es in the shoe, and secure the shoe and circular guide using the thumb screw . T o adjust the cutting depth, proceed first by loosening the thumb screw and then b y sliding the shoe and circular guide together .
10 V acuum cover Cleaner operations can be perf or med by connecting the cut- out tool to Makita va cuum cleaner or dust collector . OPERATION Installing vacuum co ver Loosen the thumb screw and remo ve the shoe. Attach the vacuum co ver , and f asten it securely using the thumb screw .
11 Connecting to Makita vacuum c leaner or dust collector Connect the hose of a vacuum cleaner/dust collector to the dust nozzle. When connecting to Makita v acuum cleaner , an optional hose 28 mm (1-1/8 ” ) in inner diameter is necessary .
