OWNER’S MANUAL Models: 4900 Series 4960 Series V ehicle Immobilizers This device complies with part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference; and (2) This device must accept any interference received, including inter ference that may cause undesired operation.
Silencer products have been designed to provide the consumer with years of trouble-free operation. This manual will provide reference for the operation and maintenance of your new Silencer vehicle immobilizer system. Please, take a moment to read this manual so you will be familiar with the opera- tion of your new system.
3 Each time the system is disarmed using the transmitter the device will begin a protection mode countdown. This is a timed secondary protection mode. If you do not start your vehicle within 60 seconds, your Silencer system will become rearmed and your engine will become disabled again.
4 The Valet Mode allows you to temporarily turn off the passive arming function, eliminating the need to give your transmitter to a parking attendant or garage mechanic. T o enter the Valet Mode, follow these steps: 1. Press the “Disarm” button on your transmitter to insure the device is disarmed (you will hear 2 beeps).
When this Silencer model is armed, the engine will not crank over . This is how to identify a 4900 sys- tem. Perform the following procedure to activate the override function: 1. T urn the ignition key all the way to the “Start” position and hold it there for 10 seconds, then turn it “Off”.
Emergency Override 1. T urn the ignition key to the "Crank" position, then turn the key off. Repeat this procedure 1 more time. 2. Wait for 10 seconds 3. T urn the ignition key to the "Crank" position, then turn the key off. Repeat this procedure 1 more time.
T o replace or remove the batteries for storage in your transmitter follow these steps: 1. T urn the transmitter over and locate the slot at the edge of the transmitter case. 2. Use a small flathead screwdriver to pry apart the top and bottom case of the transmitter while keeping the button side facing downward.
