1 Magellan RoadMate Receiver The Magellan ® RoadMate ® receiver is a vehicle navigation product th at utilizes GPS signals from satellites to calculate you r precise lo cation and com pute navig ational information that can be used to guide you to your destination.

3 Installation Ins tructions Installation of the Magellan RoadMate receiver is simple and easy . The har des t part will be picking the best location. Selecting the Location A few tips on selectin g the proper location. • Mount the Magellan RoadMate receiver in a place where it can be easily seen and will not interfere with your view of the road.
4 Att aching the Magellan RoadMate receive r to the Car Cradle Slide the Magellan RoadM ate receiver on th e car cradle so that the slot on the Magellan RoadMate receiver aligns with the tab on the car cradle. Slide the Magellan RoadMate receiver all the way down until it rests on the 'feet'.
5 Fundament als Powering on the Magellan RoadMate receiver The Power On/Of f switc h is located on the top of the Magella n RoadMate receiver . T urning the Magellan Ro adMate receiver On 1. Slide the power switch to the lef t. 2. After the initial splash screen the W a rnings screen is displayed.

8 Selecting From List When a list o f items found in the database ar e displayed, use the arro ws on the r ight to move t he list up and down and tap on the desired item in the list to continue. Selecting QWERTY or ABC Keyboard 1. Access the Ma in Menu .
9 QuickSpell Another feature th e Magellan RoadMate receiver uses to make entering cities and stree ts easier is a feature known as QuickS pell. In th e example to the right , “CE” has been entere d for a street name in Chicago, IL. The Magella n RoadMate receiver has predicted that the street name may be Cedar A ve.
10 Map Screen The most commonly used screen is the Map screen. Whether you are following a route or just tr aveling around a city , the chances are that the Map screen will be display ed. The Map screen can be displayed in two unique modes: normal and routing .

12 Current Location Screen The Current Location screen displa ys the approximate address of your current position, the next and previous intersections, your latitude, longitude, heading and ele v ation. Accessing the Current Loca tion Screen There are two ways to open the Curr ent Location screen.
13 1. T ap the speake r icon . Additional controls appear . 2. T ap on the Mute button to mute the volume, or tap the '+' or '-' ico ns to change the volume levels.
14 Cr eating a Destination Cr eating a Destination to an Addr ess When creating an address, the fi rs t step is to enter the city . The city can be specified by entering the name of the ci ty , entering the ZIP code for the c ity or by sele cting a previously used city .
15 Cr eating a Destination to an Intersection When the street number is not known, an intersecting street can p inpoint the location. 1. From the Main Menu , tap the Intersection icon. 2. Enter City: Y ou have three ways to do this: • T o select the city from the list of p revious cities, tap the button.
16 Previous Destinations Routing to a Previous Dest ination 1. From the Main Menu , tap the Previous icon. 2. Select the destination from t he list of previous destinations. 3. A screen appears with the address of the selected location, the estimated time of arrival (ET A), the dist ance to travel, and the routing method (e.
17 Creating a New Entry in Y our Address Book by Entering an Address 1. From the Main Menu , tap th e Address icon, and enter an add ress as described in “Entering an Address”. 2. 18 OneT ouch Menu In addition to Home Address, ther e are othe r icons in the OneT ouch Menu. There ar e predefined bookmarks as well as user assignable bookmark s for searches and favori te destinatio ns. They can be used for ea sy access of frequent dest inations and to get loca l information when needed .
19 Setting a Route to a OneT ouch Icon With the OneT ouch menu set up you can now go to a saved address or search. 1. T ap the button in the top right corner of the Map screen. 2. T a p one of the assigned OneT ouch buttons. 3. If the assigned button is for a search, the list of POIs is displayed.
20 Points of Inter est (POI) The Magellan RoadMate r eceiver has preloaded POIs that can be used as a destination for a route. Selecting a restaurant or finding a ga s station nearby is at your fingertips. Creating a Route to a POI by Cat egory POIs are categorized into unique categories from gas st ati ons to tourist attractions.
21 Cr eating a Route to a POI by Name 1. From the Main Menu , tap the Points of Interest icon. 2. T ap the Search By Name button. 3. S pell the name of the POI to be used as the destination. Y ou don’t need to enter the full name, but the more characters you enter , the easier it will be to find the exac t POI you are searching for .
22 Home Addr ess Y our most frequent destination can be enter ed and saved in the Magellan RoadMate as the Home Address for quick and easy access when you ne ed to navigate there. This does not need to be your real home address. Choose any address you visit frequ ent ly .
23 T raveling on a Route Map Scr een When a route has been calculated, it will be displayed on the Map screen in green with small arrows indicating the direction of travel. The top of the screen displays th e na me of the street that comes next in your T urn List together wi th its dist ance.

25 Multi Destination Routes With the Magellan RoadMate you can create routes with more than on e destination. Select one destination and create a single route first.
26 Saving a Multi Destination Route to Y our Address Book Multi destination routes can be saved for later use from the ad dress book. 1. From the Map screen, tap Menu . 2. T ap T rip Options . 3. T ap Edit T r ip . 4. The Multiple Destination List is displayed.
T raffic Glos sary RDS : Radio Data System. Infrastructure that broadcasts digital information on the FM band. TMC : T rafc Message Channel, one of the types of information that a Radio Data System can broadcast.
“No Signal” is displayed while searching for trafc signals. Icon can also appear red, depending upon the state it was in when trafc signals were lost. Coupons and Offer s Along the top of the POI Search Results and the Map display you will see a banner that displays coupons and offers from various merchants.

30 Enabling/Disabling Audi bl e Maneuver W arning 1. Access the Bluetooth Settings screen. 2. Check Audible Maneuver W arning to turn it on; uncheck to turn it of f. (When Audible Maneuver W arning is enabled you will hear a beep when a maneuver is needed and you are in the middle of a phone conversation.
31 4. All the addresses in your address book are displaye d with the phone icon displayed at the right for those addresses with phone number infor mation. 5. T ap the dial icon on the right to begin placing the call. (The dial icon displayed will indicate if it’s a work, home or cell phone number .
