6 PLACEMENT The C300z loudspeakers ar e de signed to sit on the fl oor , a tabletop, or to fi t on a stan dar d tri pod speaker stand. The y can also be suspended by the rigging points, shown at the right (also see "Rig- ging" on the next page).
7 PROTECTION A protection cir cuit is built into the C300z to pro tect the high-frequenc y compression driver from e xcessiv e power . When the pow er to the HF driver appr oaches the max i mum, the pow er de- liv ered to the driv er is mo men tari ly reduced.
8 Bad sound! • Is it loud and distorted? F ollow the pro ce dures described in the “ Quick Start ” section to verify that the lev els are set pr operly . • Are all the connections secur e? It ’ s a good idea to periodically clean all electrical con nec - tions with a non-lu bri cat ing electrical contact cleaner .
9 COLD HOT 1+ 1+ 1– 1– 2– 2+ Use heavy gauge , stranded wir e for connecting a speaker to the output of a po wer ampli fi er . Do not use coaxial cable like a guitar cord to make speaker connections. They ar e not designed to handle the high currents pr oduced by a pow er ampli fi er and can ov erheat.
