3 1. Introduction Fax Modem Installation CD is an install ation utility for both internal and external Data / FAX / TAM Analog Modems. It automatically detec ts and installs recently installed modem hardware under Wind ows OS. This utility includes Install Driv er , Install Software Utilities , User Manual and Readme four sectio ns.
4 2. Hardware Installation Instruct i o n s 2.1 PCI Interfaced Analog Modem Card 1) Open PC case and insert PCI Card into an available PCI slot. 2) Close PC case and plug one end of RJ-11 ca bl es into modem’s LINE jack and the other end into telephone wall jack.
5 3. Software Driver Installation 3.1 Modem Software Driver Installation Procedures Insert FAX Modem Installation CD into CD-ROM driv e then window below will appea r.
6 3.1.1 For Windows Vista Step 1: Please insert your installation CD into your CD drive, and then the CD will auto-run and sho w the main installation screen as bel ow.
7 Step 4: To check if modem is properly in stalled: [PCI Modem] Right-Click “ My Computer ” from Desktop icon Î Choose “ Properties ” Î Select “ Device Manager ”. [USBI Modem] Right-Click “ My Computer ” from Desktop icon Î Choose “ Properties ” Î Select “ Device Manager ”.
8 3.1.2 For Windows XP, 2000, and ME Step1: After the PCI or USB Modem hardware is installed in your comp uter, please turn on your computer. When the computer is started, the syste m will find the new hardware device and show the window as below. Just si mply click “ Cancel ” to close the windows.
9 Step2: Please insert your i nstallation CD into yo ur CD drive, and then the CD will auto-run and show the main installation screen as below. Please click “ Install Driver ” to start the installation.
10 Step4: After Fax Modem Installation Utility finishes installin g corresponding a nalog modem device driver, window bel ow will appear. Click OK to complete the installation process.
11 For Windows 2000 Click “ Start Æ Settings Æ Control Panel Æ System Æ “Hardwar e ” tab Æ Choose “Device Manager” For Windows XP Click “ Start Æ Settings Æ Control Panel Æ System .
12 [USB Modem] For Windows ME Click “ Start Æ Settings Æ Control Panel Æ Modems ”. For Windows 2000 Click “ Start Æ Settings Æ Control Panel Æ System Æ “Hardwar e ” tab Æ Choose “D.
13 For Windows XP Click “ Start Æ Settings Æ Control Panel Æ System Æ “Hardwar e ” tab Æ Choose “Device Manager” 3.1.3 For Windows 98SE Step1: After the PCI Modem hardware is installed in your computer, please turn on your computer.
14 [For USB Modem] Step2: Please insert your installation CD into yo ur CD drive, and then the CD will auto-run and show the main installation screen as below. Please click “ Install Driver ” to start the installation. Step3: After driver install process i s completed, please click “ OK ” to restart your computer.
15 [For PCI Modem] Step4: After system boots up, operating system will detect the re cently installed an alog modem, window below will appear then click Next to continue.
16 Step6: Select Specify a location (utility automatically gives driver location, so you don’t have to enter the driver location path) then cli ck Next to continue: Step7: Click Nex t to continue:.
17 Step8: After operating system finishes installing the analog modem drive r, click Finish to complete the device driver installation: Step9: To check if modem is properly installed: Click “ Start Æ Settings Æ Control Panel Æ Modems ”.
