7 I N TR O DU C T I ON This do cument provides technical information for t h e Tableau T35 i c omb ination F o rensic SATA/IDE Bri dge. The T35i combines t w o separate forensic bridg es ( IDE, and SATA) into one convenient packa ge while pro vidi ng native support for each hard disk technology.
8 SATA Det LED The SATA Det LED (SATA Detect) ill uminates wh en a hard disk attached to the SA TA in t erface connector has been properly recognized. Only one hard disk m ay be connected to the T35 i at a time.
9 The f o llowi n g table describes each of the elements shown in the above picture. Internal Elem ent Descri p tion 1394B (FireWire 800) The T35i must be connecte d to the host computer vi a a FireWire800/1 3 94B con nection. This is the interface through which each of the T35i's two I /O channels will c ommunicate with the host computer.
10 IMPOR TANT: Tableau s trongly recom mends that the T35i be on a dedicated p owe r supply lead. Switching the T35i on/off can lead to large curre n t/volt age surges which can interr u pt the operation of other devices which sh are a power supply connec tion with the T35i.
