Smith M achine PL06 Unpacking & Assembly Instructions 5 4. Remove the b ottom shipping cross brace (with Person 1 holding the right side and Person 2 holding the lef t side). The shipping c ross brac e spans the PL06 as shown Unpack ing Figure 5. Use a 1/2” sock et wrench.

The s ides of the PL06 are pack ed reversed f rom how they w ill be as sembled. Have Per son 3 assist in lifting or s liding the left side (pack ed on the right) around the other s ide.

W ith Person 2 holding the lef t side and Person 3 holding the right side, secur e the front brace ( shown in Assembly Figure 1) by sliding the two bottom bolts through the bottom holes in the front brace ( circled in Assem bly F igure 1).
Smith M achine PL06 Unpacking & Assembly Instructions 8 2. A ttach th e back (large) brace. Inser t the back brac e with the w arning label f acing inward (circ led on right in Assem bly Figure 3) by first plac ing the two 4” bolts into the top holes of the sides as s hown in Assembly Figure 3.

Have one pers on take the bar car riage and pull it down from the top of the PL06. T his person will also need to hold down the cable that the carriage is bolted onto.
Smith M achine PL06 Unpacking & Assembly Instructions 10 7. Insert t he bar into the lef t side carriage. Repeat Steps 5 and 6 above for the left side carriage. Rem ove the carriage bolts and s lide the left bar carr iage onto the bar and secure i t to the sl iders.
Smith M achine PL06 Unpacking & Assembly Instructions 11 9. Ti ghten the bo lts on the carriage. Using a 5/32” hex head driver and 3/8” com bination wrench, secur ely tighten the eight hex head bolts on eac h bar carriage.
