SM 83 Unpacking & Assembly Instr uctions 3 UNPA CKING Follow the steps below when unpacking the c om ponents of the SM83. 1. Cut off the shipping wrapper. 2. Remove th e parts boxes an d shippin g boards. 3. Remove the item s in the parts box es. Thes e item s are s hown in Figure 1.

SM83 U npacking & Assembly Instructions 8 4. Using a 5/8” soc ket and c om bination wrench, m ount the 56” lat tops (par t T f rom HARDWARE sec tion) to the cells by inserting two of the large 7/16” by 6” bolts using the hardware configur ation shown in Figure 8.

SM83 U npacking & Assembly Instructions 10 C. Prepare the w eight stack. Slide the guide rods ( 2) through the weight stack s (1) as shown below. Place rubber bum pers (3) on the bottom s of each guide rod. Make s ure the pull pin (4) is in the bottom weight plate.
SM 83 Unpacking & Assembly Instr uctions 11 6. Using a 7/8” com bination wrenc h, bolt the floating pulleys into the 190 lb weight stack s (ex cept f or the tricep pus hdown weight stack- the one with the tricep back rest mounted to the f ram e as s hown in Figure 10).
SM83 U npacking & Assembly Instructions 12 8. Mount the seated row and lat benches to the f ram e. Using the bolts specif ied in Figure 14 and a 9/16” soc ket and c om bination wrenches, m ount the benches as shown in Figures 14 and 15. Figure 14.
SM 83 Unpacking & Assembly Instr uctions 13 INSTA LLING THE CABLES The SM83 us es eight cables. T here ar e three diff erent types of cable used on the SM83. T hey are: 1. Adjustable c ross over cables (ball end cables) (3). 2. Low row cable (the long cables) (2).

SM 83 Unpacking & Assembly Instr uctions 15 Figure 18. Adjustable crossover cab le end detail. Using a 7/8” wrench, tighten the j am nut onto the adjustable pulley threads as shown in Figure 18. Place a rubber c ap on the top of the cable as shown in Figure 18 (right) .
SM83 U npacking & Assembly Instructions 16 Bolt the cable to the weight stack s as s hown in Figure 20. Thr ead the 7/8” nut up on the cable bolt as shown at lef t. Screw the bolt down into the weight stack as shown at right. Tighten the bolt with a 7/8” com bination wrench.
