2 Quick Star t Y our wireless Apple Magic T rack pad uses Bluetooth ® technology to connect to your Mac and comes with two AA batteries installed . Read these instructions to update your software, learn about the indicator light, pair and use your trackpad, and r eplace the batteries.
3 About the Indicator Light The indicator light displa ys the status of your A pple Magic T rackpad and the batteries. Â When you rst turn on your trackpad, the indicator light glows steadily for 2 to 3 seconds, indica ting the batteries are good .
4 P airing Y our Apple Magic T rackpad T o use your Apple Magic T rack pad with your Mac, you rst pair them so they can comunicate wirelessly . T o pair your trackpad: 1 Choose Apple ( K ) > System Pref erences , and then click T rack pad. 2 Click “Set Up Bluetooth T rack pad …” in the lower-right corner .
5 Using Y our Apple Magic T rack pad Y our Apple Magic T rack pad has a Multi-T ouch surface for moving the pointer and performing gestures. T o set up gestures and set other options, choose Apple ( K ) > System P referenc es, and then click Trackpad.
6 Renaming Y our Apple Magic Tr ackpad Y our Mac automatically gives your Apple Magic T rack pad a unique name the rst time you pair it. Y ou can rename it in Bluetooth pref erences. T o rename your trackpad: 1 Choose Apple ( K ) > System Pref erences , and then click Bluetooth.
7 2 Inser t the batteries into the battery compar tment as shown here. Insert batteries 3 Replace the batter y compartment cover . W ARNING: Replace or recharge both batteries a t the same time. Don ’t mix old batteries with new batteries and don ’ t mix battery types (for example, alkaline and lithium batteries).
8 Cleaning T o clean the outside of your track pad, use a lin t-free cloth. Don ’t get moistur e in any openings or use aerosol spray s, solv ents, or abrasives.
