Unpacki ng and Installa tion 5 2.0 U NPACKING AN D I NSTALLATION A quality i nstallatio n begins on the receivi ng dock. Upon receipt and before unpacking, inspect the shipping container for damage or mishandling. If carton is damaged, note on shipper’s receipt and check for concealed damage.
6 Un packing and In stalla tion 2.2 Input and Output Power Connections All wirin g should be installed by a qua lified electri cian. All w iring must co mply with NEC and applicable local codes. If the unit is not furnished with input power cable s, then input power connections are made to termin al blocks locat ed insid e the u nit.

12 Operating Instructions 3.3 RS-2 32 Communica tions Port The SmartS witch co ntains a n RS-232 ASCII co mmunications po rt fo r changing us er setting s and remote monito ring of unit status and alarm information. The RS-232 port connecti ons are to a 9-pin “D” connec tor located on the outside of the uni t.

Mainte nance 17 6.0 M AINTENANCE Minimal periodi c mainte nance of the S martSwitch is re quired in norma l operation. For a ssurance of conti nued protect ion agai nst Smart Switch fai lure, pe riodic tra nsfer testing of the Sma rt Swit ch is recommended.
