17 Getting Started with Y our Phone The Battery NOTE It is important to fully charge the battery before initial use of the phone. The phone comes with a rechargeable battery . Keep the battery charged while not in use in order to maximize talk and standby time.
18 Getting Started with Y our Phone your phone and the other end to a highpower USB port on your PC (commonly located on the front panel of the computer). NOTE Lower USB port is not supported, such as the USB port on your keyboard or bus-powered USB hub.
19 Battery T emperature Protection If the battery gets overheated, the phone will automatically turn off. When you turn the phone back on, a message pops up alerting you that the phone was powered off for your safety . Battery Charge Level Y ou can find the battery charge level at the top right of the LCD screen.
20 Getting Started with Y our Phone Signal Strength Call quality depends on the signal strength in your area. Y ou can tell how much signal strength you have by the number of bars next to the signal strength icon: the more bars, the stronger the signal.
21 Correcting Dialing Mistakes If you make a mistake while dialing a number , press once to erase the last digit entered, or hold down for at least 2 seconds to delete all digits.
22 Vibrate Mode Sets the phone to vibrate instead of ring ( is displayed). T o set Vibrate Mode, press and hold on the internal keypad, or on the external keypad (after unlocking the phone by pressing twice, if locked). T o return to Normal Mode, press and hold again on the internal keypad, or Key again on the external keypad.
23 V oice Commands V oice Commands allow you to do things by verbal command (e.g., make calls, confirm V oicemail, etc.). 1. 40 MESSAGING Message Settings Allows you to configure settings for your messages. Using the Internal Keypad 1. Open the flip and press [MENU] . 2. Press Messaging . 3. Press the Left Soft Key [Settings] . 4. Use the Directional Key to scroll to one of the settings and press to select it.
41 9. V oicemail # Allows you to manually enter the access number for V oicemail Service. This number should be only used when a VMS (V oicemail Service) access number is not provided from the network. 0. Callback # (On/Off) Allows you to automatically send a designated callback number when you send a message.
42 RECENT CALLS R R E E C C E E N N T T C C A A L L L L S S The Recent Calls Menu is a list of the last phone numbers or Contact entries for calls you placed, accepted, or missed. It's continually updated as new numbers are added to the beginning of the list and the oldest entries are removed from the bottom of the list.

46 CONT ACTS 3. Groups Allows you to view your grouped Contacts, add a new group, change the name of a group, delete a group, or send a message to everyone in the selected group. Using the Internal Keypad 1. Open the flip and press [MENU] . 2. Press Contacts .
5. In Case of Emergency (ICE) This menu allows you to store names, phone numbers and other information, which could be very helpful in an emergency situation. It also allows you to read, add, edit, and erase notes that provide important information about yourself in case an emergency situation arises.

Media Center is a technology and service that allows you to download and use applications on your phone. With Media Center , it's quick and easy to personalize your phone to suit your lifestyle and tastes.
50 MEDIA CENTER 1.1 V CAST Music T ransform your wireless device into a portable music player . Download new songs from the Media Center music catalog right onto your wireless device or a PC. Then you can sync your music between your PC and phone. Using the Internal Keypad 1.

1.6 Sync Music Allows you to synchronize your music between your PC and your phone. T ransfer music files from your PC to your phone's memory or microSD memory card (sold separately) and vice versa. T ransfer music you purchased from the online V CAST Music Store to your PC.

TIPS ● T o take a clear picture, use the Up/Down Directional Keys to set the proper brightness level before taking the picture. ● T o set the zoom level, before taking a picture open the flip completely to reveal the side keys (V olume Keys) and use them to zoom.

63 Initiating a Phone Call from the Browser Y ou can make a phone call from the Browser if the site you are using supports the feature (the phone number may be highlighted and the Left Soft Key appears as Select ). The browser connection is terminated when you initiate the call.
64 MEDIA CENTER Mobile Email Mobile Email is an application downloadable from the Browse & Download Menu. Don't miss an important email. Thanks to Mobile Email, you can get your emails on your phone, while you're on the go. Mobile Email works with many providers, including Y ahoo! ® , AOL ® , and V erizon.
65 E E M M A A I I L L The Email Menu allows you to set up your email account and conveniently exchange emails wirelessly with your device. T o use this feature, download appropriate applications first; read the instructions on your device and follow them.
66 MOBILE IM M M O O B B I I L L E E I I M M The Mobile IM Menu allows you to talk to your friends without actually talking. AIM, WL Messenger , Y ahoo! Instant Messenger are just a few of the available Mobile IM applications you can use with your enV 2 .

68 SETTINGS & TOOLS 2.1.1 Call <Name or Number> Say "Call" and then call someone simply by saying the phone number or name. Please speak clearly and exactly as in your Contacts list. When you have more than one contact number , you can state the name and the number type of the contact (for example, 'Call John Work').

The display shows the position of the city on a global map. 7. Press again to zoom in on the city and view its date and time infomation.

Bluetooth ® Menu The enV 2 is compatible with devices that support the Bluetooth ® Headset, Handsfree, Dial Up Networking, Stereo, Phonebook Access, Basic Printing, Object Push, File T ransfer , Basic Imaging and Human Interface profiles. Y ou may create and store 20 pairings within the enV 2 and connect to one device at a time.

T o Pair with a New Bluetooth ® Device Using the Internal Keypad 1. Follow the Bluetooth ® accessory instructions to set the device to pairing mode.

93 TTY + T alk: - Users who can talk but cannot hear receive a text message and send voice through TTY equipment. TTY + Hear: - Users who can hear but cannot talk send a text message and receive voice through TTY equipment. TTY Off: - Normal users send and receive voice without TTY equipment.
