9 Getting Started Instal ling t he SIM Card an d Batter y Remove the batte ry cover Pres s and hold down the battery release button on the top of the phone and lift off the battery cove r . Remove the batte ry Hold the bottom edge of the battery and lift it away from the battery compartment.
10 Install the battery Inse rt the top of the battery into the top edge of the battery compa rtment first. Ensure that the batt ery contacts align with the phone’ s terminals. Press the botto m of the battery down until it clips into place. 4. Charg ing you r phone Unfaste n the cover of the charger socket on the side of your LG Arena.
11 Memory card Instal ling a memory card Y ou can expand the available memor y space on your phone by using a memory card. n Note A memory card is an optional acces sory . Remove the batte ry cover as before. Unlock the micro SD™ compartme nt by sliding it into the ‘Open ’ position (as printed on the microS D™ compartmen t cover).
12 Format ting the memory card Y our memory card may already be format ted. If it isn’t , you will need to format it before you can start to use it. n Note All files get deleted while formatting. From the homescr een select and choose Phone Settings from the Setting s tab.
13 General Functions Makin g a Cal l Make sure your phone is power ed on. T ouch and enter a phone number using the touch pad. T o edit a number on the display scree n, simply press the key to erase one digit at a time. ] Press and hold the key to erase the entire numbe r .
14 Answer ing a Call When you receive a call, the phone may ring (depend ing on your RingT one volume sett ings) and the phone icon appear s on the screen. If the caller can be identif ied, the caller’ s phone number (or name if stored in your Address Book) is display ed.
15 Y ou can also adjust the touchtone soun d and vibrati on volume from the Dialpad scre en. Vi bration Mode (Quick) Vibr ation Mode can be activate d by touching and holding from the dial pad. Y ou can also set Vibr ation Mode by pressing and holding down side volume key as well.
16 Enteri ng T ext Y ou can enter alphanumeri c characters by using the phone’ s touch screen. For exampl e, storing names in the Address Book, writing a message or sched uling events in the calenda r all require text to be entere d.
17 When you are in the T9 predictive text input mode, begi n entering a word by pressin g the touch screen keys to . Press one key per letter . ] The word changes as lette rs are typed - ignore what is displaye d on the screen until the word is typed compl etely .
18 T ouch to input a Upper Case letter . T o change text entr y mode from Lower Case to Upper Case, touc h twice and the key will turn to orange color - indicat ing that Caps Lock has been activa ted. Key Charac ters in the Order Display Upper Case Lower Case 1 .
19 Enterin g T ext in Another Language T ouch and select T ext Entry Setti ngs . Choose T ext Entry language and select the languag e you want to input. T o see alphabet chara cters with accents . T ap the correspo nding key repeate dly until the charact er with the accent appears.

21 In-Call Menu Y our phone provides a number of functi ons that you can use during a call. During a Cal l The menu display ed on the handset screen during a call is differen t from the default main menu display ed when in the Standby screen, and these option s are described below .
22 Reject ing an Incoming Call Y ou can reject an incoming call withou t answeri ng by simply pressing the [END] key or touchin g Rejec t . Muting the Microphone Y ou can mute the microphone during a call by touchin g . The hands et can be unmuted by touching again.
23 Vi deo Sha re Cal ling Making a Vi deo Share Call Y ou can make or answer a Video Share call with other 3G A T&T video phones . In order to have a Video Share call, both sides must have a 3G A T&T Video Share capab le phones and both must be in a 3G coverage area.
24 If the other party accept s the Video Share invitat ion, the Video Share session will begin. (Afte r accepting, it may take severa l seconds before the actual Vide o Share starts. ) During a Vid eo Share call, you can do the followi ng by touching the icons below: ] : Y ou can turn on/off the Speakerphone.
25 During the V ideo Share session , turn the speaker phone on/off using the ‘ Spk. off ’ / ‘ Spk. on ’ key . n Note Recorded video clip will be saved in Menu > MyStuff > Vid eo . 5.1. Stop a Vid eo Share call and proceed to a voice call by • T ouching Stop Icon 5.
26 Answer ing a Video Share Call T ouch [Y es] when you receive a prompt asking “The othe r party wants to share Vide o Share with you” appears, to start the Vide o Share Call. T ouch No to decline the Vide o Share call. (Note that after acce pting the call, it may take several seconds before the Vide o Share session starts .
27 Saving your V ideo Share The sender can recor d video during the Vide o Share sessio n by ] Selectin g Option > Record Video Share during a live Vid eo Share call. ] Setting Auto Record to ‘ ON ’ (Menu > Phone Setting s > More > Applica tion Settings > Vide o Share).
28 Making a Second Call Y ou can make a second call while currently on a call simply by accessing the Dial Pad, from the In-Call Menu, entering the second number and press ing the [SEND] key . When the second call is conne cted, the first call is automati cally placed on hold.
29 Ending a Confer ence Call An active confer ence call can be disconnect ed by pressing the key . In-Call Menu.
30 Y our homescreen From here you can access the main menu , make a quick call and view the status of your phone - as well as many other things. T ouc h Screen T ips The homescre en is also a great place to get used to using the touch scree n. T o select an item, touch the centre of the icon.

32 ] Notifica tions Homescr een This homescr een allows you to check missed call, voicem ail, new message, new email, new IM and calendar notif ications. ] Contacts Homescreen T ouch to add contact s on the Contacts homescr een. From the addressb ook list, you can add up to 30 contacts.
33 The Quick Keys The quick keys on your standb y screen provide easy , one-touch acce ss to your most used functio ns. T ouch to bring up the touch diallin g pad to make a call. Input the number as you would using a normal key pad and touch Call or press the hard key .
34 Annunc iator With LG Arena’ s Annunciator , you can quickly connect to the Music Play er , Bluetooth servic e and more. T ouch the top side of the standby scree n. ] Y ou can set your profile by touching . Y ou can set your profile to Normal, Ring and Vibr ation, Ring after V ibration or Silent and Vi bration.
35 Zooming In or Out When viewing photos, web pages, some types of documen ts, or maps, you can zoom in and out. Pinch your finge rs together or slide them apart.

Contac t List This menu allows you to save and manag e contact address informati on. The Contact List's funct ions allow you to add a new address or searc h saved contact addres ses by name.
38 T ouch the Contact information field s to enter the corres ponding infor mation. When finishe d with the field, touch Aceptar to move to the next field. ] Enter the First name, last name or both. ] Enter up to five differen t numbers. T ouch to set that number as Speed Dial.

45 View ing a Message in Standard V iew The followin g options are availabl e in standar d view: ] Add to Address Book: Y ou can save the sender' s phone number in the Contact List. ] Select Slide : If the multimedia message has more than one slide, you can selec t and move to the desired slide .

48 Mobile Email Mobile Email allows you to access your Y ahoo! Mail, AOL Mail, AIM Mail, Windo ws Live Hotmail , A T&T Mail, Gmail and Other provide rs accounts on your phone. So, now you can quickly and easil y check your email while you are away from your compu ter .
49 Instan t Mess aging The Instant Mess aging feature can only be used with the support of the networ k operato r or communities such as AIM ® , Windows Live™ and Y ahoo! ® Messenger . For Instant Messaging users, a valid User ID and Passwor d will be required in order to login and exchange messages as well as checking the online statu s.
50 IM Informa tion This display s the Instant Messagin g Client Informa tion such as Client Name and V ersion Number . Online Menu After a successf ul Login, a list of contacts with Screen Name s will appear on the screen. Note that you can touch and hold conta cts on your Friends lists for additional opti ons.
51 ] Add a Contact: This adds a new contact to the selected cont acts list; contact s are searche d on the basis of Email Address. First Name or Last Name. ] Send Message to: Allows you to send a message to someo ne by inputting an email address or user name.

55 Mobil e W eb T ouch , then touch . This browser connects you to the homepage, as set in the browser setting s. The default account connects to A T&T’ s homepa ge. Mobile W eb is one of the services provide d by A T&T and it gives you access to the internet and all the cool things you can do with your wireles s phone.
56 ] Bookmark s : T akes you to your Bookmar k menu. Holding down this key will add the current page to your saved Bookmar ks. ] Zoom : Displays the Zoom bar to Zoom in and out while browsing .

Y ou can read ratings and reviews for businesses and easily call the busi ness that you have found to check on the availabil ity of an item or to make a reservati on.

63 Getting Started T o launch TV from the Standby scree n, touch [Menu icon ], then touch tv . Allo w a few minute s for the application to launch when you star t Mobile TV for the first time.
64 Review the basic package informati on and touch Contin ue . If premium content is available , the Select Premium Packa ge screen appea rs allowing you to select additio nal packages. Sele ct the premium package (s) you want to add to your base package and touch Continue .
65 n Note When viewing a progra m, the touch icons and program info rmation disapp ear after a few seconds. Simply tap anywhere on the screen for the icons to reappear . While in the Mobile TV applic ation, you will receive visual notificati ons for incoming calls or calenda r/alarm event s.

73 Complet e the Device Setup procedur e on the Windows Medi a ® Player applicat ion. Then click on the Sync tab. Drag and drop songs from your Library to the right (Sync) column. n Note If there are no items present in the playli st, click the Edit Playli st button and begin adding the music files from amon g the various media categori es.
74 Locate the AUDIO folder . Drag and drop the desired music content (not restric ted by DRM) from your music folder on the PC to the “Storage Card” window .

77 T ake Photo Using the camera module built into your phone, you can take pictu res of people or events while on the move. Additionally , you can send photos to other peop le in a pictur e message . Press to go to camera mode directly . Or choose from the main Menu (in the Enterta inment row).

79 Using the flash The default flas h setting is off, but there are other option s. Select from the right side of the viewfin der to enter the flash sub-menu . There are four flash options: ] On: The camera will alway s flash. ] Off: The camera will neve r flash.

82 Shootin g a quick video From standby mode, press and hold down the camera key on the right side of the phone. The video camera ’ s viewfind er will appear on the screen. If the Camera is activa ted, touch the Vi deo Mode icon to change to Vide o mode.
83 Setting s ] Vide o Size: Allows you to select the video resolu tion. The resolut ions available are: VGA(640 *480) / QVGA(320* 240) / MMS(176 *144) ] Night Mode: This is usefu l to take a photo at dark place. ] Vide o Quality: Determi nes the quality of a video clip.

89 Shop Appli cations This menu option connects to A T&T’ s applica tion download site . This allows users to download the vari ous applicatio ns by connect ing to the Internet.
90 Annunci ator Bar Icons Hands-f ree profile This icon appear s when the hands-free profile is used. This allows you to call using a Bluetoot h ® connection. A2DP profile This icon appear s when the A2DP profile is used betwe en the stereo headset device and the phone.
91 ] My Devices: This function allows you to view the list of all devices that are pair ed with your phone. 1. T ouch New Device to search for a within- range device to connec t. 2. If you want to stop searchin g, touch Stop . 3. All of the devices foun d are displayed.
92 Phone Settin gs T ouch , then touch . Call Setti ngs T ouch and touch , then choose Call . Call Forward ing When this networ k service is activated , you can direct your inco ming calls to another number , for example, to your voice mailbox number .
93 Auto Redial Select On, your phon e redials the number you're tryin g to call up to 10 times after you hear a quick, busy signal . Press to stop the call attempt s. This feature attempts to redial number s that are engaged due to the wirele ss network.
94 ] Call Reject On/O ff: This feature allows you to choose whethe r to reject incoming calls, or calls from specific phone numbers . When the Reject All Calls option is set, all incoming calls are routed directly to V oicemail . Reject on List allows you to enable Call Reje ct for the numbers saved on your Call Reject List.
95 Date & T ime T ouch , and choose then choose Data & T ime . ] Auto Update: Select to set the phone to automatic ally update the time and date accordi ng to the current local time zone. ] Date Format: This allows you to set the Date Format for the phone clock.
96 Langua ges Y ou can change the language for the display text on your phone. This chan ge will also affect the Langu age Input mode. T ouch , touch and select Languag es . Auto Key Lock This allows you to set the amount of time before your scre en locks automatic ally .
97 ] Phone lock: Y ou can use a security code to avoid unautho rized use of the phone. If you set phone lock to When Power On , the phone will reques t a security code wheneve r you switch the phone on. If you set the phone lock to When SIM Changed , your phone will request a securit y code only when you change your SIM Card.
98 n Note Not all SIM Cards have a PIN2. If your SIM Card does not, this menu optio n is not displayed. ] Change Codes : The Change codes feature allows you to change your current PIN and lock codes to new ones. Y ou must enter the current password before you can specif y a new one.
99 Interne t Profiles This menu shows the Inter net Profiles. Yo u can add, delete and edit Inte rnet Profiles by using the Menu. Howeve r , you cannot delete or edit defau lt configurati ons provided by A T&T . Access Point s This menu shows the Acces s Points.
100 ] Memory Card: If your phon e has a multime dia memory card in the card slot, you can save images, sounds and videos on the memory card. Y ou can check the current status of the extern al memory card in the Memory statu s menu.
