18 Home screen and Home screen bu ttons After the MFP is turned on and a short war m-up period occurs , the LCD shows the f ollowing basic screen which is re f erred to as the Home screen. Use the Home screen b uttons to initiate an action such as cop y , fax , or scan, to open the menu scree n, or to respond to messages .

49 4 F axing The f ax function lets you scan items and f ax them to one or more recipients direc tly from the MFP . When y ou touch F ax, it opens t he f ax destinat ion screen. Y ou enter th e f ax number and touch F ax It to send y our f ax. Y ou can also change the f ax se ttings to f it y our personal needs.
50 Sending a fax There are two w a ys to send a f ax: enter the n umber using a numeric ke ypad or use a shor tcut number . Use t he instructions below to send a f ax using the k eypad, or see Usi ng fax destinat ion shortcuts to f ax your documents using a shor tcut.
