Sele cting print m ateria ls 22 Guidelin es f or paper and specialty medi a When selecti ng or l oading paper , en velope s, t ransparen cies, or other specialt y media, k eep these guidelines in mind : • Attempting to print on damp , curled, wr inkled, or torn paper can cause paper jams and poor print quality .
Sele cting print m ateria ls 23 • T o av oid f ading, do not expos e the printed transparenci es to prolonged sunlight . • Store un used mate ri als at temper atures bet ween 59 o F and 86 o F (15 o C to 30 o C). The relati ve humi dity should be betw een 10% and 70%.
Loadin g the pa per tray 24 Loading th e paper tray The paper tr a y can hold a maximum of 250 sheets of 20 lb plain paper . For copyi ng or f axing, use A4, letter , or legal siz e pa per onl y . F or printing, use an y su pported paper siz e . The paper tr a y is preset t o use let ter siz e paper .

Cle aning the machine 63 Cleaning the inside of the machine During the printing pr ocess, paper , toner , and dust par ticles can accumulate inside the machin e. Thi s bu i ldup can cause print quality prob lems, such as toner spec ks or smearing. Cleaning the inside of the machine eli minat es or reduces these prob lems.
