2 Unpack the printer Note: Leav e the pr inter in the box until you are ready to insta ll it. T hen hav e so meone h elp you lift i t usin g the handholds (see “ P ositioning t he pr inter ” on page 8). 2 Remove all items except the pri nter from th e box.

Note: Be sure to set up the item s in the orde r list ed in the tabl e.

8 Set up the pr inter an d paper h andli ng opti ons P ositio ning the prin ter Once you hav e se lecte d a locat ion and set up any op tional drawers or a duplex unit, you are ready to po siti on the pr inter. CA UTION: The pr inter weig hs 47.7 k g (105 lb ) and requires at least t wo people to lift it s afely .
9 Set up the pr inter an d paper h andli ng opti ons 2 Hav e someone help you p lace the pri nter in th e location you have chosen. If you are insta lling the pr in ter on an option al drawer or a duplex unit, ali gn the pos ition ing posts on the option with th e holes in the pri nter .
10 Set up the pr inter an d paper h andli ng opti ons Installing an o utput expande r Y our pr int er suppo r ts an op tional o utput ex pander that le ts you stack up to 650 sheets o f paper in one bi n. Note: After you unpack the ou tput expander , install it immediat ely .

12 Set up the pr inter an d paper h andli ng opti ons Installing a 5-b in mailbox Y our pr int er supp or ts a 5-bin mail box that lets you colla te and s tack up to 500 sheets o f paper. Note: After you unpack the mai lbox, install it im mediat ely .

27 Install memor y , fir m ware, or option car ds 7 Press the r ibbon cable connec tor into the c onnec tor on the system board. 8 Flip the ha rd disk over , and th en press the three posts on the mounting plate i nto the holes on the sys tem boa rd. The har d disk snaps into place.

33 Load paper 4 Flex the sheet s back and for th t o loosen t hem, and then fan them. Do not fold or crea se the paper . Straighten the edg es of the s tack on a lev el surface. 5 Place th e pape r against th e back left cor ne r of th e tra y , pr int s ide down.

Do not lo ad any p rin t media othe r than pa per in the 2 000-she et tra y . 1 Pull ope n the tray . 2 Squeeze the s ide guid e lev er , lift the guide, and place it int o the appropr iate s lot for the size paper you are loading.
35 Load paper 3 Squee ze the two front guid e lev ers and sli de the guid e to the correc t positio n for the si ze paper you are loading. 4 Slide th e bottom suppor t toward the fron t of the tra y until it tou ches the front guide. 5 Flex the sheet s back and for th t o loosen t hem, and then fan them.
36 Load paper 6 Place th e pape r against th e back left cor ne r of th e tra y , pr int s ide down. Do not load bent or wrin kled pa per . 7 Clos e th e tr a y . Make sure the tray is push ed complete ly i nto the p rin ter . Note: Do not exceed the max imum stack heigh t.
37 Load paper F ol lo w th ese i ns truct ions to l oad the multipur pos e feeder . 1 Open the multipur pose feeder . 2 Squeeze the paper guide lev er and sli de the g uide all the way toward the front of the pr inter . 3 Flex the sheet s back and for th t o loosen t hem, and then fan them.
38 Load paper 4 Arrange the s tack of paper or specia lty medi a corre ctly for the size, type, and pr int met hod you are using. 5 Place th e pape r or sp ecialt y media, p r int sid e up, along the left side of t he multip ur pose feeder , and then p ush it in as far as it will easily go.

If y our pr inter i s attach ed to a n etwork inste ad of your computer, skip this st ep and go to Step 8: “V er i fy pr inter s etup” on page 52 .

An important point after buying a device Lexmark 752 (or even before the purchase) is to read its user manual. We should do this for several simple reasons:
