Installing a memory card The system boar d has one connector for an optional memory card. CAUTION —SHOCK HAZA RD: If you ar e accessing the sy stem board or inst alling option al hardware o r memo r.

Using the multipurpose feeder 1 Push the mu ltipurpose feeder latch to t he left. 2 Open the multipurpos e feeder. 3 Grasp t he extensi on, an d pull i t straigh t out until it is fully extend ed. 4 Prepare the paper fo r loading. • Flex sheets of paper b ack and forth to loosen them, and then fan th em.
• Flex a stack of envelopes back and forth to loosen them, and th en fan them. Straighten the edges o n a level surf ace. 5 Locat e the st ack heig ht limi ter and tab. Note: Do not ex ceed t he maxi mum stac k height by for cing pape r unde r the s tack hei ght lim iter.
7 Make sure the pape r is as far into t he multip urpose fe eder a s it will go wit h very g entle pus hing. P aper sho uld lie flat in the multipurpose feed er. Make sure the paper fits loos ely in the multipurpose feeder and is not bent or wrinkled.

Connec ting to a DSL service If you subscribe to a DSL service, then contact the DSL pr ovider to obtain a D SL filter and t elephone co rd, and t hen follow these st eps to connect t he equipment: 1 Connect one en d of the t elephone cable that ca me with th e printer t o the top L INE port on the back of the pri nter.
Connec ting to a Dis tinctiv e Rin g Service A distinct ive ri ng servic e may be avail able from your tel epho ne servic e provider. This ser vice allows you to have multiple phone number s on on e te lephone line with eac h phon e numb er havi ng a di ffe rent ri ng pat tern.
