Chapter 2. Important service information This chapter pr esents following important service information that applies t o all machine types supported by this manual: • “Str ategy for r eplacing FRU.
• If an adapter or a device consists of mor e than one FRU , any of the FRUs may be the cause of the error . Before replacing the adapter or device, r emove the FRUs, one by one, to see if the symptoms change. Replace only the FRU that changed the symptoms.
• The PEW r ecord is the 4-digit MT and 3-digit model, wher e model = “CT O” (Example: 1829-CT O). • eSupport will show both the CT O and CMV machine type models (Example: 1829-C T O and 1829-W15 will be found on the eSupport site.) • The HMM will have the 4-digit MT and 3-digit C TO model only (Example: 1829-C T O).

Note: If a supervisor passwor d has been set by the customer , BIOS Setup Utility menu appears after the password is ent ered. Y ou can start the BIOS Setup Utility by pressing Ent er instead of entering the supervisor password; however , you cannot change the par ameters that are pr otected by the supervisor password.

Chapter 5. Installing and conguring RAID This chapt er presents following information about attaching SA T A devices and conguring RAID for the RAID-supported models in this pr oduct. Note: When the BIOS was formatt ed or the system board was r eplaced in the RAID-supported models, RAID is enabled by default.

• T or que driver If you have a tor que driver , refer to the “T or que” column for each step. • Make sure that you use the correct scr ew. If you have a torque screwdriver , tighten all screws rmly to the tor que shown in the table. Never use a screw that you removed.
