Connect the USB cable to the upstream USB port of the back of the monitor and the other end to an appropriate USB port on your computer 3.
Chapter 1. 1-5 T o install the monitor driver , insert the Re fer e nce a n d Driv e r CD , click Inst all driver , and follow the on-scr een instructions. T o optimize your monitor image, press the Automatic Image Setup key . Automatic image setup requires that the monitor is warmed up for at least 15 minutes.

2-6 Selecting a suppor ted displa y mode The display mode the monitor uses is controlled by the computer . Therefor e, refer to your computer documentation for details on how to change display modes. The image size, position and shape might change when the d i splay mode changes.

2-8 Caring f or your monitor Be sure to turn of f the power before you perform any maintenance on the monitor . Do not: • Apply water or liquid directly to your monitor . • Use solven ts or abrasives. • Use flammable cleaning materials to clea n your monitor or any other electrical equipment.

Chapter 3. 3-3 T r oubleshooting If you have a problem setting up or using your monitor , you might be able to solve it yourself. Before calling your dealer or Lenovo, try the suggested actions that are appropriate to your pr oblem.
3-4 Manual ima g e setup If automatic i mage setup do es not estab lish the image that you pr efer , perform manual image setup. Note: Have your monitor powered o n for about 15 minutes, until the monitor warms up. 1. Press at the bottom of the monitor to open the OSD menu.

Chapter 3. 3- 7 8 Installing the monitor driver in Windows XP T o use the Plug and Play feature in W ind ows XP , files should be loaded from the Reference and Driver CD . Note: This section must be completed befo re continuing with the W indows XP automatic image setup.

Chapter 4. Working with L2230x Wide USB Port Replicator Monitor Connect the USB Port Replicator for the monitor 1. Be sure to install the USB Port Replicator driv er for L2230x Wide USB Port Replicator monitor on your c omputer . The driver name is “ Usb_PR_Setup.
For the Windows XP operating system: a. Click the Audio tab. b. Select a USB audio lin e-out device from the Sound playback list, and select a USB audio line-in device from the Sound Recording list. c. If y ou can not use USB microphone connector (red) , you c an Click “ Te s t hardware(T)" on the Audio tab.
For the Windows XP or Windows Vista operating system: a. Click L2230x Wide USB Port Replicator Monitor icon in the taskbar notification ar ea. The pop-up menu opens. b. Select Extend or Mirror . Note: If you are to use the Extend mode, decide which monitor you are to set as primary and which the secondary .
Troubleshooting 1. Y our computer does not recognize th e port replicator of the monitor . Disconnect the USB cabl e from your computer , w ait at least five seconds, and reinsert it into the USB connector of y our computer . If the problem persists, try connecting the USB cable to a different USB connector of your computer.
