Chapter 1. About the user guide This user guide contains pr oduct descriptions and instructions for installing and using the following products: • ThinkP ad ® Compact USB Keyboar d with T rackP oin.

Chapter 2. ThinkPad Compact USB K eyboard with T r ackP oint This chapter pr ovides information about the ThinkP ad Compact USB Keyboar d with T r ackP oint (her eafter called the USB keyboard).

– Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit or 64–bit) – Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit or 64-bit) Before installing the USB keyboard, it is r ecommended that you check the L enovo ® Support W eb site for the latest softwar e updates, including updated basic input/output system code (BIOS), utility progr ams, device drivers, and other software updates.
1. Click Start ➙ Control Panel or Start ➙ Settings ➙ Control P anel . 2. Depending on your Control P anel mode, do one of the following: • Click the Uninstall a program option under the Pr ograms menu. • Click P rograms and F eatures . 3. Select ThinkPad Compact K eyboard with T r ackPoint driver and then right-click your mouse.
Note: The cursor might periodically drift. St op using the pointing stick for a few seconds and try again. The cursor will work normally . 2. T o select an it em, stop the pointing stick when the cursor locates the item and pr ess the left or right button with your thumb.
F unction key F unction Fn+Esc Switch between the hot key and the standard F1-F12 function. Mute the speaker . Decrease the volume. Increase the volume. Mute the micr ophone. Note: This function key might not work on the Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems.
If the Fn key combinations do not work corr ectly on some ThinkP ad comput ers with the Windows XP operating system, ensur e that the comput er has the lat est version of the Lenovo Syst em Interface driver or the hotkey utility driver installed.
• The computer is turned on. • The comput er resumes normal oper ation. • The T r ackP oint pointing stick is kept pr essed for a long time. • The temper ature changes. T o solve the pr oblem, you can try r econnecting the USB keyboar d or r estart your computer .
F or the Windows 10 oper ating system: 1. F rom the desktop, move the pointer to bottom-left corner of the screen, and then search Control Panel in the sear ch box. 2. Click the View by menu and select the Small icons or Large icons view . The All Control Panel Items cat egor y is e xpanded.

ThinkP ad Compact Bluetooth Keyboar d with T rackP oint This chapt er provides information about the ThinkP ad Compact Bluetooth K eyboard with T r ackP oint (hereaft er called the Bluetooth keyboard). Pr oduct description This topic provides a gener al description of the Bluet ooth keyboar d.
3 P ower switch : Used to turn on or turn off the Bluetooth keyboar d. T o turn on the Bluet ooth k eyboard, slide down the power switch and press it for one second. The status indicator starts to fade in. T o turn off the Bluet ooth keyboard, slide down the power switch and hold it for at least three seconds.
2 NFC tag Used for pairing the Bluetooth keyboar d by Near Field Communication (NFC) function. 2 Charging indicator Used to indicate the charging status of the Bluet ooth keyboar d. When the Bluetooth keyboar d is in charging, the charging indicator is blinking.
• Once you have successfully paired the Bluet ooth keyboard with the computer , you just need to turn on the power switch on the Bluetooth keyboard each time you use it.
5. T ype the passcode shown on the computer screen into the Bluetooth k eyboard, and then press Enter . The pairing process begins. After the status indicat or turns off, the Bluet ooth keyboar d has been successfully paired with the computer and a connection is established between the Bluetooth keyboard and the comput er .

F or the Windows 10 oper ating system: 1. F rom the desktop, move the pointer to bottom-left corner of the screen, and then search Control Panel in the sear ch box. 2. Depending on your Control P anel mode, do one of the following: • Click the Uninstall a program option under the Pr ograms menu.
5. Click OK t o apply the setting. Using the ThinkP ad pr eferred scrolling function Y ou can scr oll thr ough an active window by moving the pointing stick while pressing the middle button. Y ou also can scroll through an inactive window with the ThinkPad Pr eferred Scr olling function.

Solution : Depending on your operating syst em, adjust the keyboar d r epeat delay or repeat r ate settings by doing one of the following: • F or the Windows XP or Windows Vista oper ating system: 1. • F or the Windows XP oper ating system, ensure that you have downloaded and installed the lat est Bluetooth softwar e. If you ar e using a Lenovo comput er with Broadcom Bluet ooth solution, check and update t o the latest Bluetooth for Windows (B TW) version (B TW 5.
