USB power - sharing cable First Use Steps 1. Connect the Rugged Safe to your computer via USB (Mac ® OS 10.5. x and 10.6.x and Windows ® ) o r Fi reWire 800 (Mac 10.6.x and Windows). 2. If the drive is connected via USB, connect the optional USB power - sharing cable to the drive and to your computer .
Normal Use 1. Connect the USB or FireWire 800 cable to your computer and to the drive. 2. If LaCie Safe Manager has been installed on the computer , you may unlock the drive by swiping a registered finger or using a password.
Precautions Do not stack multiple LaCie Rugged Safe hard disks or expose the device to liquids.
