4 QUICK SET-UP GUIDE Hint: Use good quality Alkaline Batteri es and avoid rec hargeable batteries. 1. Have the indoor weather station and remote te mperature sensor 3 to 5 apart. 2. Batteries shoul d be out of both uni t s for 15 minut e s. 3. Place the batteries into the re mote temperature sensor fi rst then into the indoor weather station.
5 DETAILED SET-UP GUIDE I. Battery Installation Batteries will fit tightly. To avoid start-up problems, make sure th at th e batteries do not spring free. Also be sure to insert alkaline batteries into the remote temperature sensor first, then th e indoor weather station.
6 II. Start Up Sequence A. Initial Start 1. Immediately after the batteries have been installed th e LCD will completely light up for a brief moment. 2. All information will then appear in normal mode, with “12:00” as the default time and “WE.1 ” as the default date (2004 as the year).

19 VII. MOUNTING Note: Before permane ntly mount ing, ensure that the i ndoor weather station is able to receive signals from the sens ors and WWVB signal at the desired location. To achieve a true temper atur e reading, avoid mounting the re mote temperature se nsor (or any se nsor) where di rect sunlight c an reach the re mote sensor.

21 TROUBLESHOOTING Problem: The LCD is faint. Solution: 1) Set the LCD contrast to a higher level. 2) Replace batteries. Problem: No outdoor temperature/humid ity is displayed. Solution: 1) Remove all batteries, reinsert in to the remote temperature sensor first, then into the indoor weather station.
