4 Introduction The 1000BASE-X Gigabit Ethernet PCI Adapter is a 32-bit LAN a da pter for use in personal computers with PCI computer bus slots. This a da pter features a mini-GBIC fiber connector (SFP) for a 1000 Mbps IEEE 802.3z Ethernet network connection over optical fiber ca ble.

10 Connecting to the Network The rear bra cket of the PCI a da pter contains two fiber connectors. The TX connector is used f or tra nsmission a nd the RX is used for reception.
11 Network Driver In stallation After making the connection to the network, you must install the a da pter network driver in order to connect the network a da pter to your network operating system.
