3 Manual www .kraun.com 1. I n troduc tion The video ser ver is designed with the “ user-friendly ” idea deep in mind. It translates the analog video to digital video , compresses the video by MPEG4 technology and sends the video to internet. The video ser ver can be easily integra ted with a CCT V camera to become an IP based system.

5 Manual www .kraun.com 6. Ethernet jack – this is the place to plug in the RJ45 Ethernet cable. When the Ethernet link is ok, the Ethernet indication LED on the front side will be blue light . 7. Status indication LED (red) – this LED is t o indicate the Internet connection status.

Usually , this Ethernet cable is plugged into a home NA T/router devic e or an Ethernet switch if in the oce, as shown in F igure 2-2.

10 Manual www .kraun.com 3.1. Informa tion The rst page of the web conguration of the video server product is the information page. Y ou can see the model name/rmware version, video server product ID , reg istration status , network type and cur r ent video settings( bandwidth, resolution) in this page.
11 Manual www .kraun.com 3.2. V ideo Display This display page allows you to view the video display of the video ser ver product. F or the rst time use of this display on a computer , an activeX component will be automatically downloaded into the br owser .

13 Manual www .kraun.com 3.3. Netw ork The Network page allows you to modify the network settings of the wired Ethernet. The default settings use DHCP to obtain an IP address automatically . In most of the home and oce network en vironment, there is a DHCP server running.
14 Manual www .kraun.com 3.4. A dvanced Netw ork In some special situation, your network envir onment only pr ovides PPP oE connection(ADSL service), ther e is no NA T/router available. Y ou will then need to set the PPPoE settings in the “ Advanced Network ” page.
15 Manual www .kraun.com 3.5. V ideo Settings The video ser ver product is designed to provide high qualit y video for viewing from KraunView soft ware . In this page, you cam modify some settings rela ted to the video viewing: 1. P assword(play video) – this is the passw ord needed for viewing the video from the KraunV iew software.
16 Manual www .kraun.com 3.6. 3GPP/RT SP settings The video server product is able t o be view ed from a 3G mobile phone, for detailed settings on the 3G mobile phone, please ref er to Appendix E. Users can disable the 3G mobile access abilit y in this page.
17 Manual www .kraun.com 3.7. RS485 settings The video ser ver product provides the RS485 inter face for speed dome control. The supported protoc ols are P elco-P and P elco -D . When connecting the video ser ver to the speed dome, better using the twisted- pair cable and the polarity of the connection must be correct.

Email/ftp Alarm The video server product provides the Email/ftp func tion, you can enable or schedule the Email/ftp ability in this page , the video server product will then send out an email with a jpeg picture attached in the email and/or send out the jpeg picture le to a ftp ser ver .

20 Manual www .kraun.com 3.9. DI/DO settings The video server product provides DI/DO alarm func tion, a video motion detec tion or the digital input signal could tr igger the digital output alarm. The duration of the alarm could also be set. The related settings are explained below: 1.
21 Manual www .kraun.com 3.10. NAS settings The video ser ver pro vides the recording of the video les into a standard NAS ( Net work Access Stor age ) device. The video ser ver connects to the NAS device using the standard LMX_NS/CIFS/SSN pr otocols that are the same as the M icr osof t Windows network neighborhood protocols .
22 Manual www .kraun.com In the M icrosoft Windows environment, you can access to the NAS device by keying the URL address ”NAS name ”” shared folder name ” or ”NAS IP address ”” shared .
23 Manual www .kraun.com 3.11. SD- Car d settings The video ser ver provides the recording of the video les into a standard M icro SD -Card . Since this recording is direc tly to the SD -Card, there is no network packets loss problem when recording to remote device through internet.

25 Manual www .kraun.com 3.12. Scheduling The Video server provides the scheduling function for the motion detection triggered email/ftp sending and/or the NAS recording with the individual parameters set in the . “Email/ftp alarm ” settings and the “NAS settings” page.
26 Manual www .kraun.com 3.13. Led Display C ontrol The video ser ver product provides the Led Display Contr ol function, you can enable or disable the led display/indication of the video server product device. The related settings are e xplained below : 1.
27 Manual www .kraun.com 3.14. Date/T ime The video ser ver product can synchronize the date/time with the universally available time ser ver( for example stdtime.gov .t w) through NTP protocol. The date/time will then be corrected with the time ser ver anytime when the Internet is connected.

Please ask for the correct inf ormation about FTP ser ver , username/password account and rmware lename from your supplier , and then do this upgrade .

Safe Mode If by some abnormal operation, for example, power ed o during the critical point of the upgrade procedur e, the video server pr oduc t will enter into the safe mode .
