INTRODUCT ION 1.1. General Introduction VP -793 is a very flexible im age scaler developed s pe cifically for dr i ving large screen displays and multiple screen applications from v ideo or graphics sources.

VP - 793 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION 2.1. Product Overview VP - 793 is designed to accept the follow ing input sign als: VGA an alog (computer interface) via a 15 HDD DVI (Digital V isual Interface) via DVI- I ( supporting a digital or 2 nd analog VGA i nput) HDMI via HDMI connector 2.

3.2. Introduction The front panel has key s for O S D m enu navigation and input c ha nnel selection. OSD navigation is through two di rection keys and a Menu /Enter key . 1 – Standby k ey : W hen apply ing power to the unit it starts up. T hi s is indicated by the green On LED flashing.
3.3. Main M enu The m ain menu lists the input channel select item, 6 sub menus, and a menu item f or automatic setup of VGA modes . T he 6 sub menus are Output, Color, Geom etry , Mul tiple Unit, E nhancement and Sy s tem. On each menu page an Exit m enu item is available to leave the m enu or submenu.
3.5.2. Output M ode Settings: 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x768, 1280x800, 1280x1024, 1360x768, 1366x768, 1400x1050, 1440x900, 1600 x1200, 1680x1050, 1920x1200, 480 i, 576i, 480 p, 576p, 1080i , 720p, 10 80p Set up the desired ou tput resolution w ith output mode.
The status li ne of the OSD wi ndow under Sy nc Mode ind icates if the output sign al i s locked to the input signal (I/O Locked) or in free run m ode (Free Run). 3.5.6. Native Color T emp Settings: 5500, 65 00, 7500, 9300, 1 0000 Native Color T emp allows the user to select from pre -configured color tem peratures to m atch the display .
3.6. Color This m enu c on tains adjustm en ts associated with setting up inputs to the unit. Use the Up and D ow n keys to scroll to the requ ired item and press the Menu k ey . 3.6.1 . Black-Level Offset Availab le Settings: 0 IRE , 7.5 IRE Used t o s el ect 7.
3.7.1 . Horizontal a nd Vertical Position Availab le Settings: i n steps of 1 pixel and line Change the position al value s to matc h t he display boarders. 3.7.2 . Edge Control Submenu for c hang ing the position of the im age edges, effectively scaling the im age in horizontal and ve rtical direction.
3.7. 5. Pan Tilt Zo om This m enu prov ided settings to z oom and shrink the image, as well as panning within the i mage. Pan Tilt Zoom (PT Z) can be sw itched ON or OFF . Note :- W hen s w itched ON the latency of the sy stem is increased by one frame.
3.8. Mult iple Unit VP - 793 ha s a Multiple Unit menu for use in a multi screen application. Multiple screens are stitched together to provide a bigger display with higher r esol ution than a s i ngle display . Each display is dr i ven by a separate VP - 793 unit.
Note: Each VP - 793 un it ne eds to be provided with the exact sam e value for lef t and right blend region. Top and bottom blend region have to be i dentical as well, but don´t need to ha ve the same v alue as left and right.
3. 9. Enhancement The enhancem ent menu provides image enhancement f unction s. Note that the enhancement settings apply to video input signal s on ly , not com puter graphi cs signals. 3. 9 .1. Sharpness Availab le Se ttings: - 50 to 50 in steps of 1 Control of the sharpening enhancem ent filters' level s.
3.1 0 .3. Input Config Inputs can be configured through the follow ing sub-menus: VGA Setup: Submenu f or ad justing analog computer video. A butto n for automatic setup of frequency and ph ase of the sam pling clock is provided. T his automatic adjustment is strongly rec ommended.
3.1 0.5. Menu Setting s Th is m en u provides items to c ha nge the menu pos ition and m enu display tim e, the time after which the OSD is switched off again wi th no user interaction. OSD Messages can be activated and de activated. The m enu language can be altered and the k ey pad can be lock ed.
REMOT E CONTROL WEB SERVER 4.1. Introduction VP - 793 f ea tures a W eb server which connects to a PC W eb browser via TCP/IP. The m enu s y stem of VP - 793 is mirrored into the W eb browser and all m enu items can be accessed and controlled through the keyboard or mouse of the PC.
Values are set by sliders. For fine increment of a slid er value click on the s l ider and use the m ouse wheel to change the value in steps of 1. Click again and the val ue is applied . 4.5. File Upload A page for file uploads is provide d. Test patterns can be created and stored on the PC.
